best breakfast. full city (portage) andfooddance are my favorites for breakfast. a wide variety of omelet options, a couple great mexican inspired items, and a pretty solid biscuits and gravy offering. i'm disappointed with their coffee but their high-end tea (harney & sons) makes up for it. great, friendly service. not the cheapest, but the quality and unique items make me feel better about it. for lunch, vegetarians & friends should try their house made black bean cake - excellent!

mothers day!!. wow!! i was definitely amazed at some of these reviews i read on how they had a bad experience. mine was quite pleasant. i brought my mom, my aunt and my picky 5 year old daughter and everyone enjoyed it! my mom (who is the hardest person to please) actually ate 2 plates full and had no complaints. i thought the prime rib was awesome! thefoodwas pricey but considering we had everything from prime rib, omelet stations, and all sorts of desserts, i got what i paid for. i love how everything is very fresh and all the meats are bought locally. thats a major plus! the best part of our meal was when the owner keith came over to our table to ask how everything was. that was my first time meeting him and he was such a nice down to earth guy! he seemed very social. our waitress kendra was a very personable waitress as well. we need to clone her. she was quick, spunky, and just a pleasure to be around during our stay. request her when you go in!! good job everyone at full city. we come in every thursday night for free appetizers and every sat morning for breakfast! see you next thursday!!!!

dissappointing mothers day. very unhappy with full city. called a week in advance to make reservations for mothers day for 9:30 am and was not seated until 10:15. was not informed that there would only be a buffet and no menu while i was making the reservation. good selection offoodat buffet but fold was warm/cold. waffles were hard, meat was cold, pancakes mushy, etc... everything else was fingerfoodand not breakfast at all (chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, enchiladas, etc...) and to top it all off, the buffet cost $25.99 a plate and was not posted anywhere in the restaurant (gee...i wonder why) buffet was more like a $9.99 buffet at best. $125.00 for 4 people and a very sub-par buffet was greatly disappointing and definitely will keep me from visiting again.

the vegetarian delight is fabulous.

a little disappointed,which is a shame because i love the idea of this place. my service was not great. it was kind of an awkward array of different servers getting me things once i asked for them. on friday during lent in a christian town, i was hoping one of the soups would be meat free, but they weren't. myfoodwas ok, it looked better than it tasted. i ordered the veggie quiche. the french fries were hot and tasty. my coffee was the best part. it was awesome, however, getting a refill was more difficult than a coffee lover hopes it to be. is give it a second chance, but with great apprehension.

admin assistant. we had keith and lisa cater a large event for us. the service was fantastic, thefoodwas great. white glove treatment and nice people! it was a busy day of catering for them but they were calm, cool, collected and they brought a special feel to our event.

gross, the house smoked salmon was too salty to eat and the rest of thefoodmade my stache hurt! the kids pancake was way overpriced! choose somewhere else to eat.

breakfast skillet special. wait staff was very friendly. pleasant atmosphere and surroundings.foodwas not offered on a sizzling skillet but served in a small plate. vegetables were minced and not chopped. nothing special in the flavoring of the skillet dish with spices or herbs. nice fresh pumpernickel toast. bottom less coffee. a little pricey for what is offered compared to other breakfasts available in kzo. the management does a marvelous job at marketing their restaurant through a number of gimmicks. the pumpkin pancakes were only so so. this is a well run restaurant and the people who serve you care about the patron. nothing really special about thefoodthough.

i have gotten my thanksgiving dinner here for the last three years and will this year, too. keith and lisa are wonderful and thefoodis marvelous.

our favorite a.r.r. !!!. yep, full city is, hands down, our favorite "all round restaurant"! by "all round" i mean they do it all - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. and they're our favorite because they do all three meals uncommonly well. not only is thefoodvery well prepared and presented, the fare is diverse and not run of the mill by any means. there is absolutely something for everybody on their menu (i'm a vegetarian, and i've got lots of delicious options). the service is tops. the owners, keith and lisa, are very "hands on" in their management style. they seem to always be there and interact regularly with all the customers. they feature imaginative , often hilarious, specials tied in to the season or holiday (including keith's 2 "half birthdays"). fun stuff! the desserts are wonderful too! the great food, great service, and comfy digs create an atmosphere of positive vibrations that keep us coming back again and again for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner!

full city equals happy tummy. we love full city cafe! the menu is unique from others around this area in that it includes both traditionalfoodand more complex dishes as well. all are done fresh and flavorful. the staff is great. my personal favorites are the pulled pork and the quiches!

a little late but your christmas dinner was made in heaven!. for the first time ever, our christmas was going to be just the 2 of us and the first year without our mom. keith and lisa helped to make it a very nice christmas dinner. we invited a friend who was alone-she also loved the meal and having company. the wait staff took wonderful care of everyone. thefoodwas magnificent - such attention to detail-we ordered our choice ahead of time and the choices were varied enough to suit most people's taste. the recipes were fabulous and the taste-superb!. it was definitely worth the price. their other special dinners and buffets have been delicious and a great place to take family-young and old. my mother used to love to eat at fc. i do believe that they out did themselves with the christmas dinner. thank you for making an otherwise quiet day into a memorable day for all of us.

full city cafe is a fabulous restaurant !. i've been frequenting fcc since the beginning at oakland & parkview and loved the coffee and scones. it was wonderful starting many a teaching day with at least a coffee drink & sometimes a danish, scone or muffin. then keith & lisa began doing more with their lunches and in the summer or special days when there was time for lunch, i enjoyed a great soup and/or sandwich. thank you for the wonderful days you had a place in kalamazoo!

a favorite place to eat. we always have goodfoodand good service at full city cafe. we love the vegetarian hash for brunch and often order the vegetarian bean cake at other times. but everything is good. recently we arrived to find a special of perch which was outstanding.

full city cafe always has excellentfoodas well as service. however, i wish they would go back to their original eggs benedict recipe- the new puff pastry format is terrible.

it's tough to overstate how much i love this place. great atmosphere. greatfood(both breakfast and dinner). helpful staff. and they use locally-sourced ingredients. oh, and it's one of the premiere breakfast joints in town to boot! we're really lucky to have a place like this in kalamazoo.
