hands down, best burrito in town. i guess the competition really comes down to chipolte, but let's be honest, that really isn't much competition. is it? really?
even if the line is nearly out the door, you won't starve while waiting. freebird's generally runs like a well-oiled machine as one person takes your burrito from conception to birth. the meat is always tender and well seasoned, though i can only speak for chicken and beef - i haven't tried the carnitas. the toppings are fresh and varied - including grilled veggies, pico, salsas, queso, guacamole, etc etc etc. compared to brand x, the freebird burrito is stuffed with meat and toppings, then accented with rice. brand x likes to fill the burrito with rice then accent that with meat and toppings. it's cheaper that way, but they charge you more - go figure. the freebird is then tightly rolled and double-wrapped so it doesn't disintegrate in your lap. it's just better all-around.
oh, and speaking of guacamole, freebird's won't tear your wallet a new hole when you add it - it's just a little bit extra instead of almost $2 more.
to top it all off, the place has personality and the employees are helpful and enthusiastic. try saying that about your sterile neighborhood chipolte.
so there... freebird's: best burrito in dallas.
update: i tried the carnitas tacos the other day, and they were a sloppy little plate of heaven. thumbs up!!!
