saturday lunch time and restaurants in time square casino pretty much dead. we opted to sit outside for a table of 4, the narrow tables overlooking the balcony are just good for drinks, had to move in order to get space for plates.

we opted straight to mains, an order of kingklip, tbone steak, ribeye and prawns. meals were plated like a pub but priced as fine dining. my ribeye was bashed flattened and pretty much tasteless with the exception of the sauce, an extra side and the duck fat roast pototoes lacked flavour. prawns served with an interesting parmesan rice but at r370 for 6 prawns in a tomoto sauce, it was pretty average. the kingklip was good. basic veggie side comes standard with most dishes, these were done well.

they do keep an excellentwinelist and cocktails but on the food side pretty much average and pricey for what is served.

well, went there on a tuesday late afternoon / early eve. we were the only patrons. i found the menu's to be way too big and in the way, yes im not referring to the selection, but the actual physical menu. thewinelist is above average. we did not have any starters, rather straight in to mains. my wife ordered their signature pasta, can't recall the name, but it is mentioned as their signature on the actual menu. was pasta shells, filled with beef, ricotta and mushroom i think, supposedly in a light bechamel sauce and some cheese baked in the oven. it was drenched in bechamel, lacking flavour and we are yet to taste the ingredients under the pool of white sauce / bechamel. i ordered the spaghetti carbonara, as i enjoy simplistic olive oil based pastas. the olive oil and parmesan was non existent, so to the egg yolk. the crispy pancetta pieces could be counted on one hand. utterly tasteless, lacking a sack of seasoning. now both our dishes was r180 each. mine for a bowl of dry spaghetti. which was not freshly made as they say, i will bet my house on it. their prices are over inflated for what they serve. true disappointment. you do get a feeling that they are in it just to rip the one time client off, by one time i mean non-returning due to the food. how people rate this place higher that 2, is beyond me. we did not care to mention these shortcomings to the waiter or manager, because if you are going to charge fine dining rates, surely you should deliver on it and shoul not have room for improvement. feedback are for spur's, at spur prices.

i had an awesome friday afternoon with my friend, everything the team recommended was tops; from thewineto the food!! we even got a tour of the whole place, wow!! pictures aren't doing this place any justice... it's beautiful and classy and pop and contemporary!! i was impressed!! keep up the good work guys!!

what a lovely evening. the staff is friendly and helpful. the setting is perfect. the gnocchi is highly recommended, it is so light and fluffy. thewineselection has a great variety.

rooftop venue at the lovely times square, can’t complain about this place, had drinks only. must say the menu is impressive and so is theirwineselection.

the menu displayed on zomato is not what you receive there. i found the menu very difficult to read and it looked unprofessional for the cost of the meal.
ordered salmon medium and it arrived well done, which was disappointing.
portion size was good, and the rest of the meal was tasty.
service was good.

so i wanted to always go to the casino here and this was also a perfect opportunity to try out the famous new place which is fortis. when we came in they were extremely full which is amazing to see. one can expect to wait if you don't make a reservation but that's totally fine. only problem is that when we arrived there was no host and actually had to get a waiter walking around to ask for a table. the young gentleman who i assumed was the manager or host then approached us and gave us a table not long after. unfortunately he didn't realize that the same waiter at the bar had told two other people to wait to be seated and they were before us. but either way we sat down and then ordered. thewinemenu is super amazing, and the style of the restaurant showcasing the kitchen kind of makes this place. however, the restaurant somehow lacks warmth. we ordered two pasta dishes of which one was the seafood pasta. look, they are really really pricey and honestly feel that it is not worth it. the pasta wasn't out of this world and i probably would have gotten more value for money at let's say, a cappuccinos. but then again, this isn't cappuccinos and is in a more upmarket place. considering my food was under seasoned i asked the waiter for salt and pepper. i got my salt after five minutes and had to wait another five minutes for pepper but ended up asking another waiter to bring it. so service slightly slacks. the nice thing about the place is that forti himself walks around and socialized with the customers so that kind of makes up for whatever was outstanding. oh and by the way the fortiwinewas splendid ❤️

pleasant week night out.
we shared the buffalo mozzarella starter, relatively enjoyable except for an excess water on the plate.
for mains we had seafood pasta and rump steak, pasta was delicious, although the actual seafood a minimum. the steak was perfect.
as dessert the ginger and lemon tart was a hit.
the new forti lack the warm ambiance of an authentic italian establishment but still offers great service and a very goodwineselection.
we've always been quite fond of the old ritrovo...so i guess we'll be back in the future.

the restaurant definitely has a very upmarket feel to it, with staff who play the part well. the restaurant looks amazing with a balcony area available as well, that looks spectacular at night. i was dining with a party of ±13 people inside and we were allocated our own area closed off from the rest of the restaurant, in regards to the noise. there was no need to compete with the noise of the whole restaurant. the restaurant provided entertainment that particular night with opera singers who gave a short performance for a couple minutes; truly something unique. the feel and aesthetic of the restaurant is definitely a 5/5. the only shortfall in my opinion was the food and service here and there. a few orders had to be requested a few times before they arrived, i assume they were forgotten. the food arrived relatively quickly, it was good but nothing for me to brag about, perhaps is was my choice of meal. i ate the lasagna. the presentation of the food was however incredible. i believe the highlight and best aspect of the restaurant is their vast selections of wine. i am not awinedrinker myself but my company could not have enough of it. 

would i go again?
perhaps. considering the pricing and the whole experience, it's something i could do for a special occasion i am invited to. but out of my own volition, i may opt to try a different restaurant. the food was good but not the best i've ever had. 

what i feel the restaurant is best for?
it's a nice place to go if you're looking for decent food and an amazing atmosphere.

best new restaurant in town by far! the caesar salad with a twist is a wonderful taste explosion. the lamb kidneys were absolutely superb. the rib-eye steak is melt-in-your mouth delicious. pasta is made fresh with every order and is just fantastic. exceptionalwinelist and great dessert selection. the service is amazing, that special touch that makes every customer feel extra welcome. the decor is a feast for the eyes and the ambience just wonderful. we will be back!!

fantastic food, greatwinelist, well trained staff and a great atmosphere - it is simply superb and classy - we will visit time and time again - it is certainly in the top ten restaurants in pretoria - forti really knows how to serve top class italian cuisine in a professional manner - loved thewinelist !

forti is a great addition to the menlyn main area. the space, vibe and interior was stunning. the kitchen, chef and maitre'd are out of this world! so friendly and engage with their customers. thewinelist and menu is very good. i had home made pasta which was decent in portion size and all our dishes were presented stunningly! the food was a bit under seasoned specially the steak and risotto. there were people that were paralytic drunk falling around the place, which kind of kills the elegant classy atmosphere.

wow. what an experience. best tasting steak!! beautiful restaurant. everything is perfect. the music gives such a lovely vibe and the use of colour is beautiful. you can enjoy a glass ofwinewhile appreciating the view into the kitchen while your food is being cooked. forti can definitely be super proud of this restaurant and he is without a doubt a world class chef. beware that this restaurant is very expensive, but so is all the other establishments at this casino. it is however well worth it!!
