my husband and i have wanted to try fire & smoke for a while and just haven't been able to get there before now.  we are so glad we finally tried it.  it was amazing.  first of all, theservicewas very friendly and efficient.  didn't have to wait too long in between courses, just the right amount of time.  server was very well-informed and outgoing.  if he was unsure of something, he found out the correct information right away.  we started with the scallops and duck confit nachos for appetizers.  wow.  the scallops were served on top of thin, fried potato cakes and garnished with a delicious sauce.  they were very close to perfect.  just slightly underdone in the center, but still delicious.  better to be slightly underdone than overdone and rubbery.  these were good.  i am not a fan of duck, in general, but my husband made me try the duck confit nachos and i was blown away.  amazing flavor and so delicious.  i had 2 ;-)  we both tried the "french 76" cocktail which is a blend of gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar.  it was wonderful.  we prefer tanquerey, and the bartender obliged at no additional charge.  for our entrees, my husband had the wagyu filet special and mac & cheese.  the steak was amazing.  it had delicious, smoky flavor (which, i found out was from dry smoking the meat for 30 days, in house...and boy, could you taste it!) and melted in your mouth.  it was so good.  the mac and cheese was wonderful as well (my husband is a bit of a connoisseur), homemade and baked to perfection.  i had the fish du jour, which was pan seared sockeye salmon on a bed of lobster and white shrimp succotash with a  dash of cream sauce.  one of the best fish dishes i've had in a restaurant.  i'm not a big salmon eater, but this dish may have converted me.  fresh, flavorful and really, really good.  the desserts were equally on par with the quality of the rest of the meal.  my husband had the crème brulee and i had the blueberry bread pudding.  the crème brulee was sweet and creamy and the top was caramelized perfectly.  the blueberry bread pudding was soft, but not soggy (nothing is worse than soupy bread pudding!), baked perfectly with whole, fresh blueberries and an out of this world sauce.  seriously, this meal was great, start to finish.it is so nice to know that this restaurant is here, in myrtle beach, among all of the buffets and tourist traps.  as a local, its frustrating to have to see mostly chain restaurants and fast food.  my husband and i are so glad to have experienced this restaurant. it is a definite gem.  if you are looking for a truly fresh, delicious meal served with care and by a friendly wait staff, try this place. prices are on the fine-dining side, but for a meal like this, 100% worth every penny. we are already planning our next visit to fire & smoke.  keep up the amazing job!!

i also, like read in a previous post, was disappointed by the wings; especially based off of the preparation description in the menu - with all the brine this and smoked that. they just were not cooked that well. the creativity is a major tally in the plus column though; the offerings they showcase and the nuances they use are off the beaten path, which i love.servicewas good and succinct. i like the cozy interior as well. all in all, a place that is worth the visit based off of the real chance that you could at least find something that you like. i would get wings elsewhere though.

off the beaten path & looks like a place that the locals enjoy. we had homemade potato chips as an appetizer, then each ordered the shrimp & grits small plate, ending with caramel cake, which we shared. excellent service, as we were always asked if we needed anything from several of the staff. i would certainly return!

expensive, but oh so worth it!. come to this restaurant if you want to experience unique flavors and be served by super friendly, attentive staff. this place makes you feel like you are surrounded by friends from the minute you walk in the door to the moment they are clearing the plates from your table. also, you can actually rely on the waiters to recommend dishes from the menu, because they love the food that is carefully crafted there. theserviceis super-fast; i think my husband and i were in and out in less than 35 minutes, although i admit we are quick eaters. the duck nachos and buffalo meatloaf were phenomenal. nevertheless, this restaurant aims for quality over quantity regarding their dishes, so it may appear to be on the pricey side, but don’t let that discourage you! if you dine here, your taste buds will thank you! on a different note - i am not a big drinker - but they seemed to have an extensive beer menu with some interesting microbrews.
