friendly wait staff, clean, pleasant atmosphere, slowest cooks in the city. you can get a better prepared burger at mcdonalds. ours were burnt and tasteless. did i mention the wait staff is friendly? i won't be back.

nostalig food. ate here a couple times, never went inside and just did the drive-up things. i really like it, wider selection than you usually find in a drive-up. french dip had good bread and decent beef, shakes were thick and the onion rings rocked. worth driving into springfield for.

don't eat here!. i ordered fish and chips for dinner. this was absolutely the worst fish and chips i have ever eaten. in fact, i couldn't eat it. it was extremely dry and had no flavor at all. it was like trying to eat warm leather. i will never return to this restaurant and i highly recommend that no one else dine there either...yuck!!

people of eugene, i have a confession: i heart springfield. sure, downtown springfield sometimes looks like a page off of people of walmart , but what it lacks in form it makes up for in function. home prices are cheaper than in eugene, property taxes are

a good place to drop in for lunch. the dining area at fins is small, featuring a u-shaped counter in the center of the room where patrons can sit on stools and relax in traditional 50's fashion if they so choose. booths lined in bright red vinyl upholstery line the walls for those who prefer more private seating. the dining room is small, but clean and cheery, with a color scheme of white and red, as well as the obligatory 50's memorabilia that decorates nearly every square inch of the walls.

there are also intercoms stationed at a row of parking spaces outside the building, through which one can order lunch and have it brought to one's vehicle. while the majority of diners on this particular visit chose to come inside and eat, one person did avail of this system.

service is quick, cheerful, and decently attentive. the lunch menu of course features the traditional fare of burgers and fries, though there is also a small selection of soups and salads. i chose the bel air, a burger that features bacon as well as the usual burger fixin's. it was a delicious choice, with the bacon just short of being crumbly, and along with the basket of fries it was very filling. i also couldn't pass up the root beer that is made from a special in-house recipe; it's a perfect accompaniment to lunch. prices are pretty reasonable; one can have a very hearty lunch for under ten dollars.

the atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing; a couple of patrons, who seemed like regulars, were content to sit long after lunch had been consumed and either chat with the staff or simply enjoy being there.

all in all, fins is a pleasant change from the usual fast-food franchises. drop in for lunch, and feel free to stay a while.
