the best burgers in queenstown goes to fergburger, with a healthy queue outside, it’s the place to go. we were here during the easter holidays which meant the lines were even longer. you get a menu while you wait in the queue (and easter egg during easter!) and the staff update you on how long the wait is which is helpful. we waited about 30mins to order and then it was a 25min wait for the food.

i ordered the ferg burger - nz prime pattie with lettuce, tomato, tomato relish and aioli on a seeded bun. the burger patty was juicy and the bun was soft to absorb the patty juices. a pretty darngoodburger i must say.

i had a side of fries with aioli, was impressed they were skin on potato fries.

words cannot even begin to explain how amazing this place is. this is a must stop when in queenstown! 15 minute wait time at 4pm which is pretty good. heaps of staff and the place is nice and clean. prices of the burgers aregoodtoo, similar if not better than burger fuel etc. we tried the mr big, chief wiggum, cockadoodle oink, chips and onion rings. we may even have to go again!!

i have no idea where and what to begin with! their burgers are the bomb, i don’t wanna review their burgers as the name and fame speaks for itself!

the people, man are soooooo good! they made the experience a hell of a lot better! victoria and cedric served me and were lovely. it’s sogoodto see people serving us loveee their job. people make it better and i even got a thick shake on the house. that was really unexpected of them. i had a wonderful time at the restaurant. i even got to try their pies and donuts. legendary!

they made my day!

if you’re ever in queenstown, don’t think twice, go and get yourself a burger. even when you’re down, head on into their place you’ll come out with a smile😄

this was my first visit and despite the place being crowded with people waiting for their orders/to order it didn’t take long for me to reach the counter.

when i made my order the staff had wonderful customer service, when it was time to sit down and eat i was so excited that i forgot to take a picture of my burger. it wasgoodquality, juicy meat and the chutney was chefs kiss! the cherry on top was the aioli - smooth and mellow. while eating staff came to ask how our meal was and if we needed anything else which is awesome. i got the ferg burger and i will admit it was nice, i know some people do compare it to burger fuel but i really appreciate the fresh veg!

it might seem a bit steep on your pocket (depending of what you get) but in all honesty i enjoyed my meal and it is one of those things you have to do! hopefully get to revisit before i return home to try some of their other burgers.

the crowd is alwaysgoodbut in all honesty the hype is justgoodlocation and the only place that focuses on burgers hence why its popular. the taste itself is actually nothing mind blowing. it's pretty similar to burger fuel. but i enjoyed the atmosphere

waited for 35 minutes to order a burger. they said it’d be a 25 min wait. i had heard it was an hour wait so i wasn’t particularly fazed but it was very nice of them to give free fries for the longer wait than they’d promised.

i got the bombay chicken burger which, at first glance, seems like a weird concoction of flavours (chilli, ginger and coriander yoghurt, cucumber raita, lettuce, tomato, onions, aioli and mango chutney) but it all meshed really well!! the fries were also really good, nice and crisp. the next day i also tried the onion rings and they were one of the best i’ve had!

the burger was huge but not overly so. in fact, for the hype it’s been given, nothing was particularly extraordinary or mind blowing in terms of its size, taste or price. it definitely tasted fantastic and wasgoodvalue (only $14.90) but the best burgers ever? hmm hard to say. i would queue again but only to try other flavours and because i love food but other than that, i daresay it’s on par with a lot of gourmet burger joints in nz. still a fun rite of passage to have tried a ferg burger though!!

edit:
came back here for a second time and got the cock cajun which was even better than the bombay chicken burger i got the first time. so flavourful although the chicken was a bit burnt and there was a bit too much sauce. but so delicious!!! also got the onion rings although the batter was a bit thick for some of them, it was still really good.

we had heard a lot about it & so as others we too queued up for an hour expecting a super super yummm veg burger but then it tasted asgoodas other burgers. nothing exciting & superior. the size is exciting & the pricing is ok, but still can't guess what makes the crowds keep queuing pouring in. there was never a time we saw queues less than 30 minutes waiting. even at 2.30 am in d night. we saw 8 ppl in queue. i guess its just being there & trying it out once. so its like one of the to do things list "when in queenstown just do a ferg burger" !!

fergburger, a place that is virtually unmissable due to its massive lines no matter the time of day!

this is a very busy little place that has begun to consume the surrounding footpath due to its non-stop popularity. it's definitely a worth a try when in queenstown. the place itself is nothing special, just a simple takeaway shop (that you can eat at/wait at) with a long meandering line outside.

the staff are friendly and the service is generally pretty good. nothing to really make note of in this department.

the food is definitely what people will come here for. to try the infamous 'fergburger'. i will say that generally the burgers are pretty good, nothing amazing, but definitely nothing to complain about. i tried a crumbed chicken one first and was left content but not blown away with the expectations i had gained, same with my second attempt, when getting the classic fergburger itself. so i am not sure if it quite meets the hype and talk that i have heard about it. one thing i will say however, is that in nz and especially auckland we are rather spoilt in the range of burger joints, and reallygoodones at that. the burgers were not bad by any means just not as great as i had heard in my opinion, so go in with a little lower expectation and i think you will be pretty happy with your order. another thing to point out, a very positive thing, is that the portions are massive and you definitely get great value for your money! we also got fries and i don't think they are actually necessary due to the size of the burgers themselves. they also are nothing special unfortunately.

overall, i have mixed opinions about ferburger. i am not 100% if it lives up to the chaos and hype that surrounds it, but it is definitely good, with great portions and fresh ingredients, and i think a worthy experience when in queenstown.

went here 3 times within a week trying out different burgers on the menu. the first time we visited, it was really good. however i feel like the only reason its popular is because tourist have never actually tasted agoodburger before with real meat. if you are from nz, this place is nothing special.

also on my second visit the staff forgot my order was ready and didn't put my number on screen. so the burger warm going on cold by the time i got it. the 3rd visit the staff member was just rude when i asked for a takeaway bag. never going again.

i visit queenstown at least oncea year but it's probably been 12 years or so since i've been to fergburger. i can't be bothered with the ridiculous queues.

but with covid limiting the number of international tourists at the moment, we decided to give it another whirl.

there was no queue to order but it was a 40min wait for it to be cooked. they did say 20-25min wait so take their times with a grain of salt.

i ordered a ferg deluxe with chips and shared some salt and pepper squid.

it was a solid meal and i'd happily order there again but only if there's no queue. it's no better than a dozen other burgers i've had around nz and there's 2-3 places in queenstown just asgoodbut without the hype and queues. i guess this is something that every tourist wants to tick off though.

judging by the line that went out the door of this place, it had to be a must-try in queenstown ! i tried the original ferg burger with added avocado, with a side of onion rings. the burger was physically huge! definitelygoodif you’re hungry. the burger itself was good, not the best i’ve had but not the worst either. sort of middle ground for me. onion rings on the other hand were great! crispy, and went well with the sauce it came with.
