terrible, horrible, no good, very bad.... went to fellini's last night for what i expected would be an amazing dinner as i've never had a badexperiencethere. to start, i had their special app, lamb lollipops served over risotto with lentils. i asked for med-rare lamb, and it came out rare, if not raw. the "risotto" was cold (like it just came out of the fridge) and dry, not creamy, and definitely under seasoned. i sent it back and asked for hot risotto, it seemed like they just threw the whole thing in the microwave along with the lamb.
for the main course i had their tagliatelle mari emonti. it's tagliatelle with mussels, shrimp, little neck clams in a white wine sauce. the shrimp were cooked to death. literally could have thrown it on the floor and it would have bounced right back up like one of those vending machine bouncy balls. the clams and mussels weren't cleaned properly as every bite i took was gritty. it felt like i was eating spoonfuls of sand. after myexperiencewith the appetizer, i didn't know what they would do if i sent it back, so i didn't. we moved on to dessert, i had the limoncello (lemon gelato with limoncello cream). that was fantastic. nothing bad to say about dessert. overall, fellini's has always been fantastic. i'm not sure what happened last night, but i can tell you i will never order seafood or "risotto" there. bad representation of what is usually a lovely restaurant. maybe it's best to stick to the basics.....
