great place for abeerwith friends. i have been to feierabend more times than i can remember, and have never been disappointed. thebeerselection is amazing, and much fun is always had with tasting each other's choices. the food is solid -- the pork leg in particular is so amazing that even the vegetarian has to have a bite.

this place gets busy during bar hours, so plan ahead!

with service like this, feierabend will soon say "tschuss!". i gave feierabend two stars instead of one because thebeerselection is good and makes for a reasonable happy hour option.

however, my fiancee and i went to feierabend last night for drinks and dinner and received some of the worst service we've ever gotten in seattle.

we were seated at a table with friends, waited for over 20 minutes for a server, and eventually had to take the menu up to the bar to order food. after waiting another 5 minutes at the bar, i gave the order to our server (who had finally appeared), and instead of apologizing for ignoring us, she huffed and rolled her eyes, etc., apparently annoyed that i wasn't willing to wait another 20 minutes for her to make another round.

a few minutes later, this same server (short haired blonde woman, in case you decide to make a visit) was taking orders from an adjacent table, and suddenly reached between the friends at our table to grab the drink menu--while we were actively looking at it. i held on to the menu as it started to slide away, and she kept pulling at it. when i asked her if we could hold on to the menu (since we were about to actually order more drinks), she squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth as if it were everything she could do not to punch me. this is our server. no "sure, no problem, i'll be right back to take your order"--no, just a tug-of-war and a scowl that would curdle milk. it was unbelievable.

needless to say, we watched her closely when she picked up our food and drinks from the bar and brought them to us. she was actually pretty nice, in a schizophrenic sort of way, at that point, as if her other personality had realized that her tip from our large table of patrons (about 12) might actually depend on her treatment of us. so that's the service.

as for the food, my fiancee ordered a chicken salad that she couldn't start, much less finish. i tried a bite of the chicken and had to put it in a napkin. horrible (not spoiled, mind you, just horrible). i ordered a burger, and it was fine. we also had the pretzel with three mustards, and it was good. but overall, this food is not "good," in a way that makes you want to come back. if you're really craving a schnitzel sandwich, then i suppose feierabend is one of the few seattle options, but those occasions for me are limited.

as i said, a goodbeerselection makes this an option for happy hour, but i'd steer clear for any other occasion.

friendly and delicious. stopped in on a monday night for abeerand a bite and was pleasantly surprised. thebeerlist is great and the menu offers a solid variety of choices. the place wasn't full but had a good sized crowd and there only seemed to be one server, but he was excellent. it looked like he was cheecking in with each table pretty frequently and before our first beers had even run out he was back to offer up more. the food was delicious and obviously freshly prepared. wonderful experience.

good german food. great place for anyone looking for some german fare. i've been for lunch a couple of times and if you beat the rush the service is fine. it fills up fast after work too. they source their meats from bavarian meats. i'm not abeergirl, but they have a large variety including cocktails. all with a german bent. they have bratwurst, kraut, schnitzel sandwich, apple slaw, pomme frites. all good.

i checked out feierabend last night. the food i had was tasty, the prices were right and i liked the small pub atmosphere. that being said, the service could only have been worse had they walked up to me, spit in my food, handed it to me and said "you're velcome". one party that sat next to me almost walked out (there were literally standing outside the door trying to figure out where to go instead) after being ignored and treated badly and only came back in after the one employee who seemed to have sense went out and got them.

i would absolutely love the place, except for the service. i won't ever be back and i can't recommend it to anybody else based on the service. it's a shame...

when i am in seattle this is one of those places i have to stop at. can't beat the selection of outstanding german beers on draft here. the food is delicious, especially the pretzels served with the spicy mustard and cheese! as far asbeergoes i can't say no to the optimator! fans of weisse beers will love the hackor schorr weisse! highly recommended!

great beer!. love the different types ofbeerand each type is served in a different type of glass. the type of glass it is supposed to be served in. food was good too and great happy hour prices.

fried pickles?. who knew fried pickles were a german treat? ok, ok, so i've never been to germany, but i am from the south where everything and anything that can be deep fried will be, so it's refreshing to see other countries do it as well.

we visited feierabend at a birthday celebration and had a fun time passing around dasbeerboot. good food, great ambiance, and just an overall great time.

beer. the theme is clearly germanbeerhall with a young bent. however, this does not feel like walking into a midwestbeerhall with stale peanuts and animalbeeron tap. in fact, feierabend out shines any place in leavenworth where good german brews and food is required. my wife and i have been to the "bend" several times. it seems we enjoy ourselves more when we go with others though. that does not speak to our compatibility, but rather the vibe of the "bend." i love the food although it can be heavy, but their daily special is normally creative and satisfying. blah,blah,blah.......the real reason anyone comes back is the great / incredible / supercalafragilistcbeeron tap! there are places that have more selections like, brouwers, the tap house, etc, but this place is the whole package. solid beer, european sizes, proper glassware, great feel and rarely a long wait.

if you don't love greatbeeryou will still enjoy this solid establishment. however, i believe that you really can't fully fall in love with the place without a good taste for beer. the restaurant goers are always pleasant and the staff are fun and welcoming. americans are not accustom to sitting next to strangers while eating and frankly, i know it is unsettling for my wife, but she always has a good time and most of the seating is not hall-ish.

this is family run and the whole place feels like a labor of love. from funky old pictures to the great bar! you feel the pride in their product and the depth of knowledge in what they present. as the weather shifts toward the color and chill of fall, this place finds its groove all the more. go and enjoy with friends!

very nice!. i love the atmosphere there and the food is very good. almost authentic and is closer than most to the real thing in deutschland. a very good selection ofbeeras well. a pretty good stop if you have a spätzle und schnitzel craving while you are in seattle.

greatbeergood food. this place gets a little crowded but thebeeris good and the food is authentic german. went here on a friday evening with a group of eight people and waitress "christy" was sooo helpful and attentive. she made great suggestions and helped us find seating during another very busy night. she made the difference on this night! very reasonable prices too... add this one to your list for a goodbeerand snack place.
