waited for 20 minutes to be greeted and waited for another 30 minutes as what i've ordered was just breakfast, with almost no service and told me to pay 20% tip. it seems that the witresses are quite well off.

have been here too many times than i would like to admit. great for groups and to catch up with friends. wednesday is karaoke night and also they have cheap wings on particular nights. great cocktails too for a great price

breakfast for under 6 bucks with coffee? how can you go wrong. the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the "ham". it looked and tasted like a slice of baloney instead of the typical breakfast ham. either way, can't complain with the price you're paying. been to similar places where the price is 3 times the amount because of the "atmosphere".

needs weekday waffles. this place is great but fully lacks waffles during the week. also their pancakes suck.

the best place to eat near uottawa!. i have tried local pubs and restaurants near uottawa aplenty, with import beers to lunchtime sandwiches to match. and i can say, hand on fork, that father and sons is the best of the lot. it deserves to be a foodie destination all of its own. whether you’re a jock or a nerd, i always found i fit into the crowd. the servers are nice, the food is the best part though. yet, it may be the price and value that keeps me coming back though.

good cheap food. i was there for breakfast yesterday with my boyfriend. the atmosphere is as expected since it is on the ottawa u campus: comfy, cosy and sporty. i ordered the mediterranean wrap with homefries. the wrap had three eggs, feta cheese, tomatoes and onions. the wrap itself was good but not extremely flavourful. i asked for hot sauce but the server was not very attentive and forgot it. the home fries were deliciously crispy. for 7,49$, this is pretty good value. my boyfriend got the classic breakfast with eggs over easy, homefries, toast and bacon. he seemed to enjoy his meal and commented on the crispiness of the bacon which was to his liking. the service was really the negative point of this visit since it came off as rude and she didn't seem to be attentive at all. for the price and convenience, i would return though.

student friendly cheap eats. extremely fair prices, generous portions and breakfast deals for those hungover mornings. i wish i had discovered fns earlier - this is a great place on campus to eat! they are a little slow on the service, but the quality of the food compensates for the wait. today i had mike's club sandwich ~ generous slices of tender chicken breast with crisp bacon, and pickles. absolutely delish. will be back.

went last night for the first time. definitely has the university feel which is perfectly fine. lots of seating / wide open venue, friendly and fast staff, and food was great with lots of choices. only thing i wasn't big on was the fries - home cut fries would be substantially better. and the ketchup wasn't heinz which is a bit unusual. but those are just little things - would still recommend any time for a cheap night

great prices. good variety. awesome portion sizes. the atmosphere is good as it is right beside the uni and there's a lot of students. i was also impressed with the amount of tables. worth a visit. two words: breakfast poutine.

great for every meal of the day. i have visited countless times for breakfast lunch and dinner and i am never disappointed. i've sampled a variety of dishes from their breakfast to burgers, wings, nachos, and sandwiches. always great food and decently priced especially if you go when their is a special (i.e. wing night). my only dislike is that the service can be hit or miss sometimes but the food makes up for this minor fault.

back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, i used to frequent father & sons ( 112 osgoode street, ottawa ) periodically for beer and a good filling home cooked style meal while attending the university of ottawa across the street.  i remember the delicious lunch and dinners there always with a cold glass of beer with friends.  good spot for university students to go at night with friends, grab a pitcher of beer, wings and share a few laughs. i have fond memories of this restaurant. today for lunch i decided to bring my wife along to see if father and could match it's former glory.  we arrived at 11:45 after a short walk from oc transpo 's campus transitway station , to bustling restaurant that had been redecorated since i had last been there.  we were told to sit anywhere we pleased by a waitress. we made short work of the the two step raised section of the restaurant to sit in a window facing king edward avenue . the chairs still seemed to be the same wood ones from yesteryear, but the t

went here for wing night. fairly decent quality chicken wings, however the suicide hot sauce was less then enjoyable. the sauce was franks red hot and chilli flakes sprinkled on top. they also charged extra for sour cream and offered no vegies on the side. i brought this up to the server and she accomidated me with free sauce and carrots. so good save on her part, very unpleasing these are not permanate sides.
