pretty decent crab spot. order and find your seat type of place. staff is friendly, there's nothing exciting about it, nice place to eat crabs or other seafood. sit at the bar or in the bar area and dine.

this is an awesome place for seafood especially for crabs. we tried fire cracker shrimps, jerk shrimps, blackened rock fish and king crab legs. the cracker shrimps and rock fish was awesome. the potato wedges were also good. will visit the next time i am here.

not bad for a crab shack in the woods. fat boy's isn't in the typical location for a maryland crab shack. no docks or open water around! i felt like i was on a picnic in the forest when i ate on their spacious back deck amongst the trees. it was a pleasant scene, but i was mainly there for the food. a highlight of any trip to this part of the u.s. is eating blue crabs, which i consider the best of their kind in the world. i ordered fat boys' larger cabcake (8 oz) for $17.95 with “boardwalk fries” ( the thicker ones). it was overpriced for what it was, but the crab was good. there was a decent amount of meat, not overmuch filler. the fries were only so-so -- i should have gone for a thinner variety that would be crisper. the cup of crab chowder i had stands out in my memory better -- nice thick base, lots of crab meat piled on top. there's a 70s feel to the place, real redneck roadhousey but not in a "hostile to outsiders" way.

suprisingky kid friendly. huge play set out back. ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between 4 adults, drink prices not too bad. better than their counterpart big fish & pancho pepe's. everything orders was fried so it wasn't too too bad. looking forward to taking non-marylander friends here in the summer for crab

the crab meat is really flavorful, with some pieces tasting sweet, the others tasting meaty. as mentioned before, not much by the way of spicing. so aside from the crab meat, the only other predominate taste is the bread/sauce mixture, which tastes more like sweet bread than anything else.
