fargos

good pub grub. went for wings and burgers. wings were very crispy. burgers were great. fries were over seasoned though (tossed in spice mix).

consistently good food and near impossible to beat their two for one steak dinners tuesday after 5 pm. probably our favourite burgers in town - made on-site w/o all the fillers in preformed. service can be iffy (sometimes great, sometimes not - very dependent upon the server). that said, servers are always friendly & accommodating. decor dated, but don't care - it's clean & comfortable and the food is good & a really decent value.

stopped in on a cloudy evening to try out this gem in my old neighbourhood.  i was really impressed by the care that is put into the patio.  it is filled with bright, beautiful flowers and provides a real relaxed atmosphere! 

the southwest facing design is great to catch some evening rays and the glass wall surrounding it keeps the wind out.

another great feature: the have their own patio specials! 

we stayed for a couple beers and tried out the creamy crabby wontons which were decent.  staff friendly and helpful.  

good choice for an evening drink on the east side!

it was an overall good experience. the service was good.

we got our food within 20min and it was good.
we ordered the signature burger and chipotle chicken wrap.

it wasn't the best i ever had, but it was good.

don't necessarily have anything bad to say about fargos, as its been around forever and never disappoints. could use a little make-over with the menu as it's kinda the boring same old same old. being a neighbourhood restaurant, not a chain i wish they had more "homemade" items.

lunch at fargos lounge today. service is fast and friendly even though there is one lady and she is waitress, bus service and bartender. my cosmo was very good with just the right tartness. bcm burger was loaded with cheese bacon and toppings served with gooey poutine. deep fried wonton and mozzarella stick appetizers are lacking flavor, small portions and served with boating sauces. mozza sticks look large but are mostly hollow when you bite in.

used to be better.
now...it's just another sports bar with a mediocre restaraunt attatched.
plenty of better options out there.
on the otherhand...if i lived nearby...it would bearable to stumble home from.

fish and chips. l will have to try it and l will let you know

wow. i don't ever write reviews about any restaurants even they are good but this time i feel i have to let people know to stay away from here. went out last night with friends for dinner and it went downhill from the minute we walked in. dirty carpet and anf outdated look, nothing but elderly people in the restaurant, nothing wrong with elderly but it reminds me of dennys. took 10 min for the guy to come out to seat us in an empty restaurant. took 15 min for drink orders, and another 20 min to get food ordered. the waiter/host seemed so unknowledgable about the menu. we asked for an extra on a burger where he looked at us like we were crazy? after the food arrived 30 min later, we found the food to be less then mediocre. i ordered a fargos burger with fries and it just tasted like old burbt beef and soggy veggies. we all ordered the same thing and everyone at our table felt the same way. didn't even finish the burger. fries were not good also. i urge people to stay away and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. there are many many many more places in the city that serve great quality good for the same price. nasty place should shut down.

well the steak deal was hard to beat but the prices have gone way way up. now it's a poorly disguised come-on. back to the other parts of the menu for average pub food

back again tonight and the steak was very nice. and.... they just can't do special orders. they try and the food was good but it was also wrong. keep it simple is the order of the night. and all baked potato has sour cream even if you don't want it. get fries. they get that right

best place for tuesday night steaks. but the service is a bit stunned. sorry. i don't know why they always get my order wrong. but they do try to fix it. just means they take twice as long on their less then speedy service. but the steak deal is so hard to beat. and if you plan for a reorder then it makes for a good place.

worst service i have ever had. went there on a friday at 6pm. sat down and no waitress for 10 minutes. she came over after ten minutes and struck up a conversation with the couple who sat down after us. had to flag her down as she tried to walk away. asked for menus and two beers, 5 minutes later she was standing around talking to another waitress and we had no menus or drinks. will never go back.

worst eggs benedict. their holondaise sauce was cold and tasted like mayo and sugar. the egg was cooked solidly through and extremely dry.
the waitress apologized - but wouldn't take the meal back or discount the bill. it was like the kitchen had never made the dish before.

the french toast was good from what my brother had.

severely dissapointed with their service and meal. don't waste your time here.

went for wednesday night wings. service was like a bigfoot sighting; almost nonexistent. the decor was reminiscent of a boardwalk property take over; slap a coat of paint on and call it art. it feels very 80's in there. never going back thanks to the piss poor service.

great east-end spot. i've eaten here many times and never had a bad meal, although all my visits have been limited to the lounge and evenings. the steak sandwich with bourbon mushrooms is amazing! it's refreshing to order a steak sold by weight and not have half of it be fat/gristle.

mediocre at best. i was really excited about the menu and the atmosphere when i came in to sit down. impressed with the service, drinks were great! but it went downhill from there with the food. had an overcooked, dry burger. my wife had odd tasting and overcooked chicken tenders. since we came for lunch, we were disappointed overall in the food.
