mediocre food lines this overpriced menu. charming atmosphere does not save bland and uninspired dishes.

072021-ordered oriental chicken salad for a light dinner. salad contained kalamata olives with pits and overcooked, dry chicken. problem with pits brought up to the server, but server stated that the salad was prepared correctly. never had pits in a salad before. the only part of the salad edible was the huge pieces of iceberg lettuce. price of this salad was $22. unfortunately this is my second review; hopefully it will not be deleted as the other review was deleted. will share knowledge of experience with fellow teachers when i return to work.

this past trip, we visited fandango restaurant (223 17th street, pacific grove), a mediterranean steak and seafood restaurant right in downtown pacific grove. kevin enjoyed the surf and turf and i had their tortellini maison, in a pesto and cream sauce. on other trips, we’ve paired our visit to carmel with other restaurants in monterey and visits to the famous fisherman’s wharf and the monterey bay aquarium.

omg. still here but so far we've had the escargot and caprese salad, absolutely delicious. oh and the chianti classico, yum. 30 page wine list with an award of excellence from wine spectator. yep, love this place.

delightful menu. we have eaten at fandango twice in 2012. both times, we had excellent meals that were made with creative recipes. in both cases, we ordered the tapas appetizers and the choices were entirely different on the two occasions, but everything on the plate was unique and delicious each time. our one disappointment was uneven service. during our second visit, our server was distracted talking with other guests at such great length that our needs were ignored and we sat waiting until the server had finished chatting. we will return, but may speak with the owner (who is sometimes present) about the importance of appropriately attentive service and refraining from chatting it up at a table in a way that is disturbing to other guests.

the menu features classic european style cuisine made from locally sourced produce. much of the food is cooked over a wood-burning grill, which had a central location in the dining room where we were seated.

average. kind of a cute place with just ok food. our guest was a famous artist of mildly eccentric appearance. we felt that we were treated poorly because of his long hair and flamboyant dress. this distinguished gentleman could easily buy fandango many times over. will not go back, ever!

stopped in after another fantastic meal at nearby passionfish for a dessert. grand marnier soufflé and a nice marnier at pierre and marietta's place really hit the spot! four thumbs way up!

treat yourself in pacific grove. we just ate at fandango's in pacific grove, ca for the second time. the food is quite good. you can easily drop a c-note on dinner for two. when you arrive, you are seated and given the typical bread basket and butter. but these folks also give you a small bowl of olives, which are quite good. the setting is cozy and romantic and the service is exemplary. i'd recommend the caesar salad and as a main dish, the filet of sanddabs. you have to like rich food before you will enjoy the sanddab dish.

for more information, including the menus, check out fandango's web site at http://www.fandangorestaurant.com.
