location :equinoxrestaurant is located in the ground floor of the sonnet hotel at inner circle road, bistupur, jamshedpur.
recently the place has been renovated.
equinox is one of the best multi-cuisine restaurants in the city catering to corporate guests, athletes, business honchos across the world.
during weekends and peak hours the place has a huge rush and the waiting time for the foods served is quite high.
ambience : the decor is nice with false ceiling emitting colourful lights. the vases and pots along side the tables are simple yet adds to the elegance of the place.
we have visited this place a number of times. we will share our experience with some of the dishes that we have tasted over our number of visits.
food: with the place being renovated, the menu card has also been revised.
previously they served a fish finger from the basement section. the fish was excellent with fresh bhetki fish coated with breadcrumbs and fried.
now the dish is replaced by another item fish goujons.
finger siced fish fillets coated with papad based crust and deep fried, with a mint based chutney inside.
though the dish was suggested by person serving,it is not a suitable substitute of the earlier fish fingers.
the papad coating did not satisfy our palate much
chicken satay is a popular starter of the place. boneless chicken pieces served on skewers, in a soy based coating. tastes awesome too.
pakhtooni chicken kebab is one of the newly added starters.
presentation is gorgeous with vertical skewers arranged on a plate with salad and pudina chutney.
taste is good . but the chicken seemed slightly undercooked.
gai pad krapow was served next.
gai pad krapow(fried holy basil chicken) is a thai dish that’s compromises of stir fried chicken with basil leaves, with garlic, soy sauce etc.
but the dish served here is something different from what we expected or how it’s actually supposed to be. we were served with a bowl with soy based soup with tiny chunks of chicken and bits of basil. rice was served along with.
the gravy was too saucy for our taste buds.
moroccan kefta kebab is a star of the show.
presentation is nice and attractive.
one of the best dishes of a-la-carte orders. spicy tomato onion based gravy of minced lamb koftas, garnished with cream on top.
good combination with tandoori roti.
the tandoori rotis of atta (wheat) deserve special mention, when the whole world is going anti-maida. :)
awesome desserts like bulls eye, brownie with ice cream are so good that deserves appreciation.
wide range of drinks are also served.
price is on the higher side. but once in a while company of special ones ond guests deserves good ambience and good food. in jamshedpur this is one of the best place for such occasions.
unbiased review based on our visit.
