epic restaurant

a nice experience if that's all that matters to you.  has the impression of fine dining along with the price tag, unfortunately the food falls flat.  i had a caesar salad to start, it was good, wrapped in prosciutto, but not 'epic'.  my fish filet came out cold, i ate it anyway, it was good, but, again, not 'epic'.  i should probably give it a second chance, but i will be ordering off of the prix fixe menu next time.

epic is unquestionably the best restaurant in columbus and one of the better restaurants i've eaten anywhere. that being said, on this occasion we found a couple of things that could have been improved upon. my wife ordered the 'study of mushrooms' for her appetizer. it was amazing, but they forgot the ravioli. they rectified the error by bringing us each a small bite version of the same appetizer with the ravioli. i had the sous vide octopus and it was perfect, although the portion was a little large. that style of cooking can be overdone, but in this case it's perfect. the octopus was creamy with just the right amount of texture and was perfectly complimented by the sauce. for our main courses, i had a brand new item, the tempura lobster with hot smoked salmon and my wife had the sea bass. both dishes came out cold. we complained, but insisted that they just heat it up as it looked too good to waste. the end result was worth the wait. my wife's sea bass had a sweet glaze that was perfectly complimented by the glass of vouvray recommended by the sommelier and my lobster and salmon contrasted nicely with each other. for the evening, my only complaint is that the portions were rather large and we didn't have room for dessert. i did, however, finish with a cappuccino and it was excellent. it will remain our special night out in columbus.

real nice experience. great food, fun fine dining experience, and even educational (inside a renovated pre/post-civil war factory). if you like to dress nice and have some one cater to you, you'll like this establishment. highly recommend this for a nice date or if you are looking to impress somebody.

absolutely loved it!. i had my birthday dinner in september 2014 here. i never had an experience like this one. ambiance, food, service, a kitchen tour after the meal and a long talk with the owner/chef - all utterly fantastic.

not impressed. honestly was not impressed by the food although the atmosphere and service were excellent i think the loft downstairs offers a better steak.

amazing experience!. my husband recently took me here to celebrate my birthday. epic is by far the best restaurant in town. the food was phenomenal -- it was hands down the best food i've ever had! i couldn't help but moan each time i took a bite of my fried green tomato salad! the pumpkin souffle was the cutest and tastiest dessert i've ever experienced! the cocktails were a work of art! the service was the best we've ever had -- the waiter was impeccable, professional, and personable. he gave us a tour of the kitchen after our meal. overall, it was a highly enjoyable experience and worth every penny!

best dining experience i've ever had in america. i've had dinner at one restaurant in paris called "l'ami jean" that just beat this place. if you want fine dining in the southeast look no further. epic is the definition of it.

exceptional. a truly sensational dining experience. from the amuse bouche to the dessert course, every morsel was simply perfect. the herb crusted lamb simply melted in my mouth and the pan seared scallops were perfectly prepared. the pastry course was just as delightful. the chocolate terrine was so good that we were giddy. my espresso martini was magical and paired perfectly with the chocolate torte. the service was attentive and knowledgeable. the atmosphere was elegant and refined. the menu had so many delectable sounding options, we'll have to go back to try them all. if you go out to one amazing meal a year, this is the place to go. you won't be disappointed.
