skyline, ambiance, meatballs, music, drinks. life is good.... me and my wife loved the new emporio: meatball joint. we made reservations using the no wait app and had no problems with it whatsoever. when we arived we still had some time for our table, so decided to check the bar upstairs. coincidentally the bar upstairs il tetto also opened that night, 05/09.. the ambiance in the roof top was amazing.greatviews of the city skyline was offered from the retractable roof. all in all agreatspot to hang out with friends just for a drink and order some light fare from the menu. we decided to head down to emporio once i received a text from no wait. we started with an order of poutine with chicken gravy and a fried egg. opted for tator tots instead of fries, and it was delish. i wanted to try something different so i got the vegetarian meatballs panini with creamy parm sauce and she got the chicken meatballs with pesto sauce and pasta on the side.greatentrees, and everything tasted good. we were also impressed with the service. all in all a very pleasant experience and i am definitely returning back.

i've seen some bad reviews but this place was top notch. our party of 4 used the no wait app and were seated immediately upon arrival. the staff was courteous and attentive. our server, vince, was excellent. good and drinks arrived promptly and both were delicious. we ordered poutine and pepperoni fritters to share and varying types of meatballs with sauces. pork bolognese, arribiatta and pesto were our favorites. everything was delicious and vince happily split our checks for the two couples even without prompting. even the appetizers were split in half! we had agreatexperience and i would definitely be back.

what i loved the most about the place is the ambience. querky interiors, really cosy feeling.greatvibe owe it to the friendly staff they've hired.
huge range of options to choose from. loved the mac and cheese with meatballs. there's also one dish with noodles as it's base, enjoyed these two to the core! tender meat and flawlessly cooked to perfection. this is the place to kill your meatball cravings!

i've probably eaten here at least a dozen times  and the food is always great.  the wedding soup is excellent, and i usually get a panini.  i'd never had a warm olive platter before, and it's pretty delicious.  really, all of their snacks and apps are great.  when i lived downtown i would go hang out at their bar, watch football and eat.

their service can be a little on the colder side...slow sometimes, and sort of brusque, but it's fine.  the food, beer and whiskey selection makes up for it.

i continually find them to be agreatvalue too.  bar prices are standard, but their food is really inexpensive relative to the quality.

nothing compared. this compared to its sister restaurant (sienna in market square) is in completely different categories. while the market square location was more conservative in design and creative in flavor - this was more flamboyant in design with disappointing flavor. the cocktails weregreatthough¡

simply delicious. waited to try this place until i got more opinions about it, it was worth the wait. can you say tater tots. classic and crispy. also had sliders. love the pick your meat, sauce, and vessel to be served on idea. vegetarian slider with tzatziki sauce was great. my date had the vegetarian panini with mushroom sauce alsogreatchoice. pork with marinara and turkey with pesto were my other sliders of choice, equally as good. also this place has agreatcraft beer selection. this may be my new home. but for all you meatball lovers please go and enjoy. free your mind and get as many combinations as you can stuff yourself with.

nice customizable menu. went there with my husband this past weekend and it we both really enjoyed it! we tried several types of meatballs and four different sauces, and all were very flavorful. my favorite was the tzatziki sauce, which had a nice creaminess without being too heavy and the cucumbers in it were shaved very thinly. the menu has agreatvariety of small options so indecisive people like me don't have to pick only one ; )

enjoyable!. i work downtown in the summer and kept talking about trying this place. finally did in july and ended up having agreatexperience. it took us a while to get service and actually had to say something to the hostess, but they made up for it and then some. there was a mix-up about who was taking care of our table, but they immediately gave us a free appetizer. i'm a vegetarian, so i appreciated the veg options. the meatballs are huge and the poutine was good. definitely an eclectic experience, but i would return (even though i don't have much hipster blood) :-) . also frequented the rooftop bar during the summer. a little pricey, but for the setting... i'll pay! wonderful atmosphere!

delightfully delicious meatballs. i have dined at sienna sulla piazza several times and am a huge fan so i had been greatly looking forward to visiting emporio (brought to you by the same people who own sienna) for quite some time. i finally made my way there on a tuesday night, arriving at about 8:00pm. i love the industrial design of the restaurant-the "garage door" opens when the weather is nice too. we were greeted immediately upon walking in and the hostess seating us gave a very good overview of the menu, filled our water glasses, and left the carafe on the table (which i always like). service started off shaky-we were waiting for a good 10 minutes when our server came over and apologized for the wait, thanked us for being patient, and added she was having a computer issue and couldn't find anyone to help her. having worked in food service before, i'm very understanding and wasn't bothered by this as i've had the same issue. she took our drink order and those were promptly brought to our table (i had the boulder mojo a nitro ipa and my boyfriend had an old brown ale). they have a decent draft selection-lots of ipas which i love. most are between $5.50-$7 so typical pittsburgh prices. we started off with the buffalo fried chicken balls with blue cheese and celery. the celery was shredded and blended with the blue cheese which topped the fried chicken balls. they were delicious-had a definite kick to them-and there were 6 balls so it was perfect for sharing. for our entrees we both decided to do 2 sliders (since you can't do multiple types of meatballs in any of the serving options-that was my one negative). we both did a meatball of the day slider. the meatball of the day was a ground beef/corned beef mix topped with saurkraut and stone ground mustard. wow! it was perfectly pink in the middle-how i like it-and the flavors blended together perfectly! my boyfriend chose a spicy pork slider with arribiatta sauce which he said was very good. i chose a chicken meatball with the tzatziki sauce and again-wow! the tzatziki sauce was probably the best i've ever had and i really liked the flavors in the chicken meatball. after that hiccup in the beginning, service was great-we were checked on at exactly the right points during our visit, our glasses were always full, after we finished the plates were immediately cleared. she was very talkative and friendly and made agreatsuggestion on the boulder mojo i had. she also told us the 2nd floor opens next week so we will be visiting that hopefully soon. we had agreatexperience from start to finish (minus that hiccup with waiting for our server at first) so do not hesitate to make your way down to emporio for some delicious meatballs-we will absolutely be back for a return visit.

...got a spicy pork meatball with the arribiatta sauce. so it was spicy and delicious and was truly memorable. i loved the sauce on this one, it was agreattomato sauce with a kick and i really like spicy food. my other choice was a chicken meatball with the mushroom gravy. it was good, but nothing to write home about (unlike the other ball).
