fun lunch, exceptional catering. i've been walking or stopping into elm not-regularly-enough since the opened. i have had many sandwiches i loved and a few that i didn't. i don't like the torpedo rolls, too dry. but everything else hits the spot and it's always exciting to see what they have come up with next. the hot chocolate is made with actual chocolate, and they offer almond milk which i like to have instead of normal milk (wish places would offer organic milk). also love that they use bows & arrows coffee.i just wish more of their muffins were chocolate based, but that's just me. i wish they had jacket/bag hooks under the bench inside.
i've had their catering on a number of occasions and i'm just so impressed by their quality and creativity. what agreatedmonton success story.

a nice little place just a couple of blocks from me and a sister business of district coffee; i knew if it was affiliated with district, it had to be good. my first visit, the staff were friendly and helpful with explaining the different coffees they had for the day. even though, elm cafe has a smaller selection of baked goods that district has, everything still looked yummy and fresh. i went with my husband and we ended up getting 2 brew coffees (daily special), a muffin and 2 of their daily breakfast sandwiches. the coffee was a light roast which didn't suit my taste at all. the muffin, berry almond, was really moist and bursting with lots berries and a nice almond streusel on top. the daily breakfast sandwiches were awesome, a fair size and delicious. the bread was really good too and could only imagine what their daily lunch sandwiches were like (btw, the reubenesque at district coffee is awesome). being that it's nice and close to my house, thegreatservice and most important, thegreatfood, i will definitely be back.

this is our favourite go-to shop to get a hot-pressed breakfast sandwich to start off the weekend right. the menu changes regularly so it never gets old. in the morning there's usually two choices and by lunch they add a couple more. there's never been a time where at least one of the choices wasn't delicious (usually both choices look delicious to be honest). the scones and coffee are also pretty tasty. i will keep coming back here as long as they're open!greatfood, good price, fun staff - what else do you need?

on a slow summers day the elm café is agreatchoice for a light lunch or breakfast. the are the king of the sandwich makers, in my opinion. today i had a mac and cheese sandwich which is a twist on the blt. it was delicious. the problem with elm café is that there is really no seating except for a couple of outdoor tables with no rain protection. so if the day is fine this is a five star café. if it is cold or wet outside, i would suggest somewhere else.

service: i have been to this place three times and each time the staff was friendly and patient.

appearance: this is a small place with limited seating, there is bar like seating at the window for four people and there are tiny, slightly unstable table and chairs outside. the place appears to be clean and tidy.

food:
tea: they have loose tea...yes! always give bonus points if loose tea is available.

oatmeal coconut cookie: wow! this was agreatcookie, fresh and soft, but with a slight crunch on the outside, so good with my loose tea!

jurassic pork - pork belly, cheddar, spinach, cukes, pickled apples
- this was a tasty sandwich, fresh, warm and all the levels of flavour made my mouth happy.

olive&let die - chicken, kalamata, bocconcini, 🍅, fennel, olives - this was a nice light sandwich and the olives addedgreatflavour.

sandwiches overall: my only complaint is that i felt that the sandwiches could use a bit more filling, the bread part overwhelms the taste profile due to the lack of the filling.

go again: yes! and the names of the food are so clever :)

i live in the area and have wanted to try this place for a while. it's amazing! one of the best grilled sandwiches i've ever had. too bad it's so tiny inside though, it would make for agreatbrunch/coffee spot. i'll be back!

i was very fortunate to find myself staying a block away from this little gem during my month-long stay in edmonton.  not only do they havegreatcoffee (they serve bows and arrows coffee from victoria, bc) but also excel in the food department.  i was a big lover of their muffins (oat-carrot, zucchini chocolate, berry bran, etc etc.) and many others obviously were as well as they were sold out by about 10am every morning.  i was even more impressed by their daily sandwich board...

small place, butgreatfood. i went there today, got 2 sandwiches with a coffee.
food, it is really awesome, but very cramped place.

i wouldn't call it a restaurant, it is more likely a food cart station.
there are seat, (4 chairs?) but you would be very lucky, if you got one.

it is a very busy place, and simple menu. so take a sandwich on your way.
again, food is very good

elm hasgreatcoffee and i've been going since it opened but some of the staff are getting progressively more rude and put-out as they get popular and that is an unfortunate thing. i've seen this happen to a few good places in edmonton, perhaps because they a are not many of them but i do wish that they would just be glad to be part of something good, smile, and not let it get to their heads.

excellent for those who can stomach acrid hipster barista condescension. and i say that without any sarcasm. come for consistentlygreatshots, sammies, and the feeling of being judged up and down. i love the place for their product, but for reals, some of the staff are utterly offensive in their attitudes towards customers. maybe i'm a glutton for punishment?

claustrophobic inside space butgreatcoffee.. i had a small cup of americano. it was really tasty and strong. i really liked it. i think it's the best americano i've had in edm so far. i'll compare to transcend on 109 st today. :) things i like about this place: high quality coffee beans; the concept of the coffee shop for using local suppliers for its menu; the way elm manages its social media to promote its menu. things i do not like: it's a very small place where you can't take someone on a date since everyone can listen to your talk; it closes at 5pm what is way too early. why does not elm close at 6pm? i need to get off work 1h earlier if i wanna have a good coffee there. i'll try the food next time. it will be probably in the weekend since it closes way too early during the week days. suggestion: why elm cafè does not have a bigger room for people to stay in? seriously it's a bit claustrophobic inside. i really like elm's coffee and concept but i think it's just a to go coffee shop, right ?
