special mixed grill platter gyro platter & salad. nice warm cozy cleanplacewith prompt service & excellent kabobs & rice. definitely worth a try if you like greek or arab or even indian foods.

so good. thisplacehas the best humus and gyros....not to mention the baklava....worth it!

i'm glad i found this place...kind of a whole in the wall, until you walk inside....great customer service, and friendly staff.

yum yum yum. a group of us ate at el basha last night. it was a lovely evening, allowing us to eat on the nice deck they have to offer. i've been wanting to try thisplacefor a long time, and am so glad i finally did. the food was awesome, the staff friendly, and prices extremely affordable.

you order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you after a short (10 min max) wait. we started out with an order of pita bread and hummus (which was served very attractively it's bowl). both great, and it came with plenty for 4 to share. i ordered a gyro, and it was probably one of the best i've had. it was loaded with tender meat, thinly sliced onions, tomatoes, and for sure the tastiest tzatziki sauce ever. it was at least as good, if not better, than jim and jennies version.

per my dining companion's suggestion, i ordered a chicken shawarma to go and ate it for lunch today. i'm sure it'd be better to eat immediately, but it still made for good leftovers. served in a pita wrap, the chicken was flavorful and tender, and worked well with the veggies in it (tomatoes, spinach, and pickles…which gave a pleasant crunch to the whole thing). i would for sure order this again as well.

possibly with highlight of the evening was smoking the hookah. for only $10, it gave our group over an hour of fun, and was especially pleasant to do while enjoying the evening on the above mentioned patio. you had the option of several fruity flavors, and we went with mango. tasty! or, as someone in our group said, it tasted like magic. :-)

like i said, prices were cheap, with nothing being over $6 or $7. a combo (of fries and a drink) can be added for a couple more bucks.

my only small complaint is that it'd be nice if they offered alcoholic beverages. a beer would've gone great with my meal.

i would hands down recommend this restaurant.

this has been one of the first restaurants i visited here in omaha. i technically lived my whole life in the middle east, and to be honest that region of the world has the best dishes you could ever try, especially lebanese. this restaurant doesnt provide the best middle eastern food you you'll try, but i assure you its worth your money. the presentation of the food was good, theplacein general was clean and comfortable, the only problem with hospitality is that you're gonna have to wait a while before getting your food finally, it worth the wait though. i ordered the kabab and rice with tabboule and hammous. the hammous was quite good, the kabab needed more salt and it needed to be seasoned well. they need to work a little bit more on the tabboule though.

best gyros in town by far! quick service and really chill atmosphere. greatplacefor a quick sitdown lunch. the restaurant is always very tidy and it looks so unique.

thisplacelived up to the hype. ordered at the counter from a very nice but quiet man. ordered need schwarma with a side salad. salad was fresh and nice portion. scchwarma was well portioned, and if the fries would have been hot it would have been a perfect 5. alas they were warm and limp. but i will certainly be back.

definitely know why thisplaceis so often regarded as great. i have yet to have a bad meal here, theplaceis quaint to a little small for how popular, but with the extension of the outdoor patio (great during spring and summer)placeexpands out a bit. gyro meat over rice is my go-to meal, but i've tried just about everything on the menu at least once. sage tea is fantastic too, great after meal digestive - turkish coffee too, but a little strong for me. all in all can't rate thisplacehigh enough.

the food is hands down the best i have had in my recent and somewhat short endearment for mediterranean cuisine. and if the food was the only criteria then i would have happily given them a 4+. but theplaceclearly lacks good service.

when i enter a restaurant i am accustomed to be received and placing order with the orderly. however, which clearly wasn't the case here. i have seen this with other middle eastern restaurants but they usually receive u and take your order once you are seated. anyway, after placing the order at the check counter, i expected my drink first followed by the meal. which went the other way around. my husband had to get up in between his meal to remind the guy at the check counter, who seemed bewildered by our inquiry. well, my rose tea did arrive just when i was about to finish my meal.

my wife and i shared a mezza plate (hummus, baba chanuje, falafel, taboule and pita bread) and a mixed grill plate ( beef shawarma, chicken shish tawook, grilled kafta, grilled vegetables, rice and 3 sauces). we both absolutely loved the mixed grill plate. everything on it was very good. which almost made up for the mezza plate. the only thing we liked was the bread. but, to be fair, neither one of us is a vegetarian. we are both avid meat eaters. i highly recommend the mixed grill plate and will be coming back for it again. theplaceis very small and would not be able to accommodate large groups of any kind, but would be very good for small groups of 3 or 4.

i've been hearing good things about thisplacefor years, so i finally stopped in to try it myself.

i ordered the gyro combo which comes with fries and a drink. the gyros was very tasty. a little impossible to eat as a sandwich, but once you eat down the contents a bit with a fork you can pick it up and go at it. gyros meat was cut in thick slices. it wasn't dried out like it is at so many places that pre-cut it and then hold it. tzatziki was good, but i got it everywhere. i'm a bit of a messy eater. i opted for no tomatoes on mine. i just don't care for large chunks of cold tomatoes on most things i eat. very decently portioned sandwich.

it's served with steak fries. they're typically not my favorite type of french fry, but there's were done well. i was sort of expecting some vinegar and greek seasonings on them as it common at so many other greek restaurants. i was a little disappointed these were plain fries. i did ask for them "well-done" and they complied.

they do offer fresh-brewed iced tea and it's pretty decent.

it's nice to add another restaurant to my list of places to get a good gyros. i've tried so many bad places over the last few years that finding a good one was refreshing. i'll have to try some of their other mediterranean cuisine selections when i'm feeling more adventurous.

dining room is too cramped. too many tables in too small of a space. restaurant is clean and well-maintained. i agree with will that the parking lot at this restaurant makes no sense at all, but that's the landlord's fault and not el basha's.

amazing. thisplaceis great! all the food is delicious, the service is friendly and fast, and the price is right. go here- you won't be disappointed.

great food, poor customer service. we absolutely love the food. we've eaten there 4 times, each time we've sampled something completely different and each dish was delicious. sadly, the woman taking our order has been less than cheerful each time. even the couple beside us complained about her attitude the last time we visited. a goodplacethat might be even better with an employee attitude adjustment. :)

are you kidding me? $10.00 - $14.00 for an entree you would pay $30.00 for in most places. plus you can bring your own adult beverages. ok the ambiance is not spectacular,
so what! if you don't like thisplaceyou have serious food issues. stay at home.
you don't know quality at a bargain!
