strawberry cake. i had heard several of my friends comment on the strawberry cake. i decided to take it to a family reunion. everyone adored it! from kids to adults, it was a hit. not too sugary, and very moist, and just strawberry enough! normally strawberry deserts are not my favorites, but this was absolutely perfect. strawberry bits in the cake, and in the icing, too.

although i would agree that edgar’s has good cakes and bakery items, i cannot accept the fact that they are willing to charge a $10 “decorating fee” for a few roses and some writing put on a cake. isn’t that decorating part of what bakeries are supposed to do?????? they were already on the pricey end. additional charge is ridiculous! $27 plus 10 fee now makes this about a
$40 cake! from now on i’m going out of my way to go to dreamcakes.

place has gone down hill! whether it's forgotten food, luke warm coffee prepared incorrectly by the untrained girls at the front, eggshells and chicken in my over cooked and dry vegetarian omelet, old lettuce in my crab cake salad, this list goes on. i have given this place a chance time and time again considering its convenience to my house. but never again.

excellent...when it is fresh. i love edgar's bakery as we have been going to edgars's every since it was one single location. we like the cakes, cupcakes, bars and especially the cookies. when the items are fresh, they are hard to beat. my only issue has been freshness, especially with the cookies. when the cookies are fresh they are soft and have the best flavor, not too sweet. but when they are old, they are hard as a rock with little flavor. i have had so many issues with old cookies that i now ask the server to check for freshness when they are getting the cookies. problem is i still cannot trust the server will get me a fresh cookie. they simply to not care if it is fresh or not, or if i am satisfied. unfortunately i have to check from myself before i leave the bakery.
today my kids went to edgar's while i was getting my hair cut. when i saw they had 3 cookies i said 'i doubt they are fresh". both kids were already eating their cookie and both said their cookie was fresh and soft. great to hear, finally fresh cookies without checking before leaving. after i was finish with the hair, i tested my cookie and to my horror, somehow i got the old cookie and again, hard as a rock. i took the cookie back, telling the associate my issue. she asked me i wanted another cookie. i told her the 'frog' cookie, as my son's frog cookie was really fresh. as we walked off my son wanted to check my cookie, and again to my horror, i had an rock hard cookie. why in the world do i always get the old cookies? i went back to the same associate and told her again all i wanted was a fresh cookie. how hard is that? she went back to the frog cookies and found a really fresh one. third time was finally a charm.
i've had similar issues with the cupcakes, though not to the same extent. i really question edgar's standards. why are they serving old items? what happened to 'day old' items? why don't the associates take charge and deal with older items? probably because the associates simply do not care. for a bakery to have a freshness issue is not good. their standards for freshness should be super high. it is sad to say the owners just have not instilled high freshness standards to their associates. it would really go a long way here.

so good!. whole cake prices are a little high, but their stuff is truly delicious. there is no better place if you want to just walk in, stare at a beautiful array of goodies in the case, and buy some individual treats to enjoy. i love to get a giant slice of cake, and my kids love their cookies and cupcakes. if you order something sweet, you can't go wrong. i did have a lunch sandwich there a long time ago, but it was just okay.

yummo. this is my go to cake place in town. the cakes are so good! get a piece of cake off the top of the coolers in front when you want to try a different flavor for a bargain. the strawberry cake is to die for! i also love eating sat morning breakfast there. it is pricey but the food is good. i will note that the service is lacking at this location. i have gotten better service at the 119 location.

pretty good. not usually a big fan of pancakes but gave theirs a try for breakfast, and they're quite good (and you get plenty of them).

the good and the bad... beautiful and delicious cakes...always a hit ! but i will say, check your order before you get home -- we have had one cake that was supposed to be decorated and was not, discovered after i got home. most bakeries open the box and show you the cake before you pay, but this was sealed., and i just assumed....made a special occasion a little less so. like so many bakeries, they are just busy...i guess i'm just used to bakeries being harried and a little rude. i do understand some of the negative reviews on here, but love their cakes anyway!

have to add -- i just ordered a huge sheet cake for a very special birthday and had it delivered to the venue. it was beautiful and the most incredible tasting cake i have had in some time! thank you edgar's!

highly disatisfied! my family orders cake from edgars for almost all of our special occasions.well, for my sisters wedding the cake was not what our taste buds were accustomed to. in fact the texture didnt even feel the same. not to mention they charged $100 for a cake stand, they forgot. when my sister called to make them aware of her disatisfaction; they said bring in a slice so they could taste it. she did and was told "this taste like our yellow cake, nothing we can do." that cake was not of great representation of edgars. however, predicated on their poor customer service, betty crocker will suffice. oh, forgot to mention we were told that the person that handled the order was fired a while ago....what does that have to do with the taste and texture of the cake.....would've been better off going to publix....really!

poor service, lackluster food. my friend and i thought that we would give edgar's bakery a try for breakfast after a long hiatus from occasionally using their bakery for cakes. we assumed that we would at least be able to find good french toast and pancakes. upon entering the bakery we both agreed that it was cold. we placed our order with a woman who seemed distracted. we had to ask for our coffee cups. we asked if the heat was even on. the manager came by and said it wasn't. we looked at a thermostat and it said 62. it was 7:30 in the am, they had already been open for an hour. they turned it on. while waiting for our order we strolled the bakery. the bread and rolls felt stiff, the cookies felt hard and all the display case offerings looked like they needed a good microwaving to generate moisture. we sat down next to a couple just about to leave. their dirty table wasn't cleaned even by the time we were finished eating. the pancakes were dry and somewhat tasteless; if there were more sugar in the batter i wouldn't have needed another syrup. my friend's french toast (challah) was above most but for the price better could have been made at home. both dishes were served with a vanilla custard which was about as thin and disappointing as sweetened milk. mutually unimpressed we walked to the display where my friend asked for a sample of a pastry explaining that if he liked it he would buy a whole box, he was refused outright and we left with a very bad returning impression. edgar's is a poorly staffed "restaurant", bakery first for sure, with sub par food and a lukewarm atmosphere. the layer cakes are their saving grace. i would consider elsewhere for breakfast.
