well we finally made time to visit the mumbai fine dining place.

the occasion was a birthday and the cake that came along was excellent.

supposed to be silver service, the attention kind of weaned midway, but i would give them the benefit of doubt.

now the food part. no we did not have kakori kebabs. had enough of them in life so wanted to venture into something more exotic.

the raan was great but not excellent. it was like a roast, but the flavours had not seeped in. the cheese and onion stuffing was ok. good for the occidental palate but they would not know what they are missing.

the biryani was a must order, and it was fantastic. do not ever miss it.

the khushk purdah, a chicken dish was a delectable one. hot, pineapple , spicy and smooth. the rogni roti and the nan was great.

we were full, so no desserts. the pan was good.

would i go there again. i am in two minds. may be and perhaps maybe not.

opulent is the first word that comes to your mind when you enter the lavish dum pukht. far more lavish from the other restaurants at itc, just the sheer look of this place takes your breath away. it is like dining in the taj mahal. ornate white walls, glass work and dramatic couches & chairs, some of them in bright orange are just enchanting. full marks to the concept creator and designer. not to forget the crystal glassware, the silverware and fine porcelain, this is the gold class when it comes to ambiance. if i were itc id keep the kids away too!
coming to the other aspects of the meal,
food- for the first time in my life i had gucchi's (not to be confused with the designer label :p) but well this is quite close. the mushroom for the royalty. it was succulent and worth every penny. the nilofari kebals and the naans and parathas were just perfect! the veg biryani was nice but i think we were quite full and our expectations sky high by then. not to forget the dal dum pukht was nothing like anything id tasted before. yum yum yum.
service- impeccable. all the stewards, servers served with a smile and were conscious of all our needs. the paan in a silver box was 'sone pe suhaga'
since it was moms birthday they served a chocolate cake which was super unlike other restaurants complimentary cakes which are just sponge cake with some cream on top. this one just made our day!
this is one place best reserved for this special days in life.

in an array of restaurants at itc maratha, quietly does dum pukht stand by the right side of their coffee shop - peshwa pavilion. yet this place has outdone itself and is something to boast about at itc maratha.

a very mughal and diwan-e-khas touch to this place makes you feel like a royal once you enter. chandi ke paraat as one would put it as alongside your exquisite silverware makes it even better. miniature minar patterns on the wall, low lighting all add to this amazing ambience.

coming to the food, 2 items - arbi qaliya and dum pukht biryani. that did it for us to miss home. well suggested by our server - rahul. made to perfection is all i can say. something what mom and dad would cook for parties and i'd peep through the fridge to fascinate my senses and then indulge myself in to with complete bliss. the biryani is a must for meat lovers

thank you, chefs of dum pukht.

the only one thing that got to me was the raita which was bland and the long serving time. considering we were the last order, note to management - try and avoid your closing in front of your guests, gives an impression that you want to throw us out!

dum phukht is a great place to be at. maybe a better place than its exalted cousin peshawari (which i think is a bit noisy and congested). the decor is a good blend of the contemporary and the artistic. the spaced out seating and the friendly staff is what relaxes you the most. this time there was the ramadan festival food on offer as a fixed menu complete with the dates, haleem, kebabs, sevaiya and the rasmalai. the presentation in a huge dining silver set was very interesting and lavish. the food quite nice and each dish was with its exquisite and unique flavor. surprisingly a restaurant like dum phukth which is so famous for its awadhi cuisine falls short at the galauti kebabs which were not so soft as what you would expect. great place to be in at point in the year and which would for sure never disappoint.

fabulous gluttony. worth every calorie that you in take. shorba timatar, kakori kabab, warqi paratha, mirch baingan ka salan and lamb biryani. round it off with a kulfi..

this is one of the most sinful but probably the most delicious meal u can have. you will not regret for a moment!!!

when a classy place, nice interiors and expensive cutlery are coupled with brilliant cuisine, magic is created !! while we just went for the starters in hara bhara kebabs, chicken tikka and kakori kebabs with a few drinks, the taste made me promise myself that i shall be back for more and sample the famous biryanis. till then.... ciao !!

had some amazing food at the restaurant. although we had a long waiting time but it was worth it. for the starters, hara bhara kebab was so soft and delicious- totally melt in the mouth. even the nargisi kebab was tasty. loved the dal made from split green dal and it tasted just like makhani dal, also very light on

good food and ambience.lack of mobile coverage (especially jio network) needs to be attended, since this creates problems in scanning qr code for menu and for payment.single diner package for three persons (two veg and one non veg) costs rs 7.8k.staff courteous, knowledgeable and helpful

happened to visit dum pukht over the weekend with my family, five of us. as one of us was vegetarian, we asked for a single diner veg. the person there refused for the same, saying that the single diner menu is for single person only if he's visiting alone. later he also added that it is only for in house guests. then we asked for the 'veg nawab experience', which is a four course veg meal. the person attending us refused to that as well saying that it would be too much for one person. when we asked him that it has been designed for a person only and what is the issue, he had no answer. may be they were too lazy to cook four course or whatever. since i was with my family, i ordered a la carte as he suggested without arguing much. but the question is, we pay premium for good service at five stars. and these people are not giving good service. how can they deny what we order. we are paying you for the kind of service you guys give. something not expected from itc.
coming to food, the dum pukht biryani was fantastic, but subs biryani was a disappointment. also the kebabs were good.
all in all, not the kind of experience we had expected.

we visited dum pukht on a saturday for a celebratory lunch on my birthday and the experience was absolutely royal.
the ambience, the furniture, the music, the cutlery all provide you with the feeling of royalty.
the staff at the restaurant ensure they strictly follow the covid safety norms and their service is exemplary right from the start to the end.
we were attended to by a steward who was very helpful in suggesting to us the restaurants signature dishes and also wanted to ensure we had the best experience with regard to their food.
on their menu, they have a ‘single diner menu’ and my advice would be to most definitely opt for this one. this menu includes all their best dishes and is absolutely and totally worth the cost.
since it was 2 of us at the table, we got to try more variety.
here is what we had;
starters:
1. dum pukht kakori- a very soft mutton seekh kebab loaded with fine spices and packed with flavour.this kebab literally just melts in your mouth.
2. seekh gilafi dum pukht- a tender chicken seekh kebab with a light flavour but not as impressive as the previous.
main course:
1. maash qaliya- an exotic thick buttery dal which tasted a lot like dal makhani.
2. murgh handi quorma- a yoghurt based delicious rich gravy preparation of succulent pieces of chicken.
3. shahi nehari- a delicious mutton gravy preparation with. another very good dish here.
4. khamiri roti
5. wheat roomali roti
6. dum pukht lamb biryani- a biryani spiced with an amalgamation of the subtle flavours of all your exotic spices. it contained the most tender pieces of mutton on the bone and was an absolute delight to eat.
dessert:
1. kulfi badshah pasand- kulfi with vermicilli
2. zauk e shahi- basically small kala jamuns soaked in rabdi

we had a wonderful time at this restaurant and i would highly recommend it for romantic date or just for those foodies who love trying out exotic food.

this is an experiance. the beautiful decor. the lovely seating and rich feel.makes it classy when you walk in. the cleanliness and the cutlery was well presented. what is awesome is when you have k knowledgable stewarts. lovely recommendations. the gulati kabab is the best i have had. the flavors burst in your mouth with a sweet paratha to pair with the spice. the biryani had rose flavor and the meat was the best part. the nihari was bit refined but was lapable. the khamiri roti was fine. awadhi revelation. its authentic. but maybe play authentic sound too instrad of old hindi songs.

we went to celebrate our anniversary and though it was just the two of us, the staff made us feel extra special . we are both doctors by profession and i’m glad to say that hygiene measures, distancing protocols and sanitisation was par excellence. the kebabs and biryani were unparalleled as always . the maitre d’ , akshay even got us a cake to celebrate the occasion , which was a wonderful gesture. they made sure our evening was memorable.
