very disappointing / e-cigarettes everywhere!. have been going to dragonfly for years since the food there is very good. however, tonight's experience was very disappointing. to my surprise, discovered that the restaurant allows e-cigarettes in the dining area; could not believe it when the manager said they allow them. the two adjacent tables next to me had a total of three individuals blowing their vapor smoke towards our table. it was very annoying. we got up and left before we ordered our main meal and went a little further down spid to black sheep bistro. not sure if i am going back to dragonfly!

second visit - second time blown away with the amazing food and great service.

has a great atmosphere in the restaurant and very attentive staff - love the garden bar for a drink before dinner.

the food is what i rate the most! - always so good! portion sizes are great, interesting ingredients and not an overly expensive night even with several courses.

will continue to return with pleasure for both meals and drinks out in the bar.

great! love it.

easily my favourite restaurant in wellington! love the food especially the fried chicken nibbles; best in town! great atmosphere, service and food of course! it's always busy and there is no reason for it not to be. i've been working in hospitality my whole life and am very critical wherever i dine and i can't seem to fault dragonfly. i recommend it to everyone!

dragonfly has an extensive cocktail list and is perfect for a night out. the food cannot be faulted and my favourite dish is the salmon 2 ways. the staff were polite and friendly and were happy to meet dietary restrictions.

came in expecting a fusion food menu but it was dominated by curry influences.

we ordered a bunch of starters including carpaccio, soft shell crab, dumplings, octopus balls, squid and spring rolls. the crab was excellent and the squid and octopus tasty but the carpaccio was smothered with salad with little meat.

the main course selection was very limited. we ordered the special fish (salmon), duck, beef ribs and pork and prawns. most of the flavours were dominated by curry flavours and tended to blend into one. of the mains the beef was clearly the best while the salmon was disappointing being cold and overcooked.

the meal cost nearly $300 which i didn't think was good value. we will not be returning.

disappointing. the bacon cream sauce had hardly any flavor. the jalapeño poppers were just ok. never did taste any of the chorizo that was supposedly inside. wouldn't go back again.

food was great, only thing that slightly let it down was our waitress, don't know if it was a mid week thing, but i felt we were kind of annoying to her.
loved how we could thank the chefs on the way out. atmosphere was grand.

if you like gingernuts, the ginger kiss cocktail is a must. it is something you've never tasted before. it is incredible! the service is good, and the wine list is pretty good.

i dined here with a group of ten and we had such a great night. the service was 10/10, our waiter connor was attentive without being intrusive. our water glasses were always full and he remembered ten drink orders without writing anything down. he made sound recommendations for cocktails too! all i can say is give this man a raise!! as for the food, again everything was great. we ordered everything on the entree menu and it was all so yummy. my personal fave was the tuna, the sauce was so tasty. everything was well portioned too. we shared a few of the mains, the beef curry being the unanimous favourite. great flavours although my meat tasted a little fatty. the pork and prawns were really tasty but we only had two prawns which was disappointing.
the interior was awesome, and the decor went so well with the theme of the menu.

may 17, 2013. we were famished when we arrived, satisfied when we left. i started off with a watermelon martini--nice. our first appetizer was my pick for the best dish of the evening--crawfish cheesecake. absolutely delicious.
we also shared the chicken enchiladas poblanas and goat cheese ravioli. my husband picked the enchiladas as his favorite.
before the main dish we ordered a hilariously gigantic cosmopolitan with sci-fi like dry ice effex. very star trek, very fun.
my entree was the seafood canneloni--creamy seafood sauce, fresh vegetables, plump pink shrimp, and mussels.
for dessert my hubby had a creamy nougat with a tart berry topping. i had a sazerac.

went to enjoy a nice drink here from a decent range. found the waitstaff to be quite hostile and unprofessional with one of them even wiping the top of our wine bottle with his hands after spilling it on the table.

i picked my wife up from airport, then decided to give this place a try. it is a very different experience. both entrees and main courses are nice, especially the slow cooked beef short ribs. after dinner, we had a drink at its backyard, a nice place. we will be back.

our favourite restaurant in wellington. love the atmosphere, the outdoor bar, the staff, the wide array of delicious cocktails and of course the delicious food. we come here about once a month and my favourites are the china girl, the dumplings and the delicious eggplant salad. we have eaten everything on the menu and recommend it all! best restaurant in wellington.

my wife and i really enjoy visiting dragonfly. they have great food, service and have a comfortable environment. the manager is very nice and always accommodates. the food portions are large but the quality is still great. the ribeye can feed 2 people.

great modern asian. bookings are taken for tables inside but i've only eaten in the courtyard at the back, and i wouldn't want to sit inside anyway. be prepared to share. very good cocktails and good atmosphere. although the courtyard is mostly covered i don't remember being bothered by ciggy smoke.
