perhaps the best pizza in ashland. myfamilyloves dor-lo pizza. they have ever since they were in their old location on claremont. i am glad that they moved into a nice new building. i went there when i was back home more than once because it's kind of the "go-to" place that appeases both sides of the families (now that donatos has closed down). the first thing i'll note is that out of the three times i've ordered pickup there, their estimated time that they'll be done with the order is usually inaccurate. the first time we ordered, we were quoted a 30 minute wait that ended up taking 45 minutes. the second time we ordered, we were quoted it would take 45 minutes and it took an hour and 10 minutes. the final time we ordered we were quoted 35 minutes and we showed up 5 minutes early and it had already been done and put in a box already. strange.
but what we all really care about is the pizza. first of all, it's usually cut into squares. second of all, the amount of sauce on it is perfect, it's enough that you know that it's there and then some. some bites it'll squish out up from underneath the toppings, but that's not a bad thing. speaking of toppings, you won't get cheated here. the amount of toppings is plentiful and even though the slices are cut into maybe 3"x3" sizes, you're going to get every topping you ordered on it in every bite. the crust is of the chewy variety, too.
all in all, dor-lo's is probably one of the better pizzas you can get in town if you're not going to go with one of the national chains. so why not throw a localfamilyrestaurant some of your business?
