dish dash is a fresh mediterranean restaurant in sunnyvale which also has a great decor. i opted for the outdoor single seat table. the food was delicious and the open air experience was awesome.

items on my order
tabsi falafel with freekeh, cranberry juice, complimentary pita with olive oil infusion.

santanu introduced me to dishdash in old sunnyvale. it's an extremely popular spot, even with very efficient service. our food was excellent, making the wait for the table worthwhile. we started with a cold appetizer platter. these six dishes offered an amazing variety in not just taste but also texture. these little plates encompassed an amazingly large band in the middle eastern food spectrum. my main dish was the lamb. chunks of lamb came buried in the rice, all surrounded by an extremely flavorful and rich sauce. the lamb was succulent and tender. i had to restrain myself from gobbling it down.

one of the best mediterranean restaurants i've been to in a long long time. fine dine, so that was a surprise, haha. their platter is worth trying since they have a good spread of their best dishes (i think). apart from that, their kalai (starter) is a must try! will visit again!

this place was located just next to my hotel in sanjose. they have the best mediterranean food with customization. this place has really nice seating arrangement and romantic kinda ambience. i visited it 2-3 times and found it crowded all the time so better to make a reservation before.
the food quality was great, love falafels, service was superb and the music- oh my god, love their music.

4/5 food
5/5 music
4/5 ambience

the ambience is super cool and appropriate for a dinner date, food was delicious, we felt that the server helping us was in a hurry, they took our plates while we were working on it and it felt like they wanted us to leave and get the table ready for others, we had to wait and ask for getting our water glasses refilled. didnot like the service though.

we were invited here for dinner by friends who had made reservations for 4.  we tried calling to add some additional numbers to the table but it was fully booked – friday evening.  we showed up anyway in our group of 7 and had to wait around half an hour to get us all seated, which was pretty decent given how busy the place was.

the best middle eastern food i've had! try their zara, sabanech and mashakalah (probably spelling it wrong). also, the baklava crumble is to die for!

nice collection of food and drinks. for some reason, our waiter was really pesky and constantly kept on bugging us asking for the next order. i'm guessing that it was an aberration because otherwise this place in murphy's ave is a big draw during weekends.

sunnyvale
atmosphere: low light and noisy inside
order: mansaf and biryani
presentation: poor
service: poor
portion: ok
taste: both mansaf and biryani tasted nothing like the original, i do not think the mansaf contained any jammed, probably cooked with plain yogurt. although both tasted good, but i was expecting something else. the mansaf came with a shy portion of beef came hiding beneath the rice.
price: ok

result: this place seems to be lived by many but it is defiantly overrated, at least for my taste and style.

this place is ok, staff tends to forget things even when you remind them a couple of times. food was ok for vegetarians, lots of options for appetizers but not in entrees, the food lacked flavor and was very bland.

their location in sunnyvale downtown is better in service.
