we ended up at dimora saivam because it was walkable from poompuhar handicraft store at trichy and we had no energy to walk any longer.
after a short visit to the rockfort temple and lady of the lourdes church in trichy, we were nicely exhausted and hungry. since we reached quite early for dinner, we were the only customers.
we we were hoping to get south indian meals but turns out that’s only available for lunch. we ended up ordering a chilli idli and agheeroast dosa. this was followed by a sweet lime soda and mausambi juice. and i ended the meal with an onion uttappam,
since we had a late night bus, we had a lot of time to kill. the dinner was a leisure one. the food turned out to be decent and the service was quick. among everything we had the uttappam was the winner as it was well roasted and quite crispy. the sambar was a slight let down but then tamil nadu does have a different way of preparation than karnataka.
overall the food was decent and moderately priced, it just met expectations. we were hoping to stick around and kill some time. but a few mins after our meal, a person who seemed like the owner came along and asked us to leave because apparently this was his business and we can’t just be hanging around. i would have understood his request if their weren’t any empty tables. but apparently our being there was hampering his business and somehow creating imaginary issues for other customers.
i wasn’t pissed being asked to leave the place. but it was amusing for sure. we left immediately. however, i have made sure that the rating is not a reflection of their food or service. that’s how things are.
but would like to mention that its not a very traveller friendly restaurant. the staff had stared at us for being around a few times as well. guess there is also a cultural difference with tamil nadu that i couldn’t connect it. neither the language issues helped in understanding better.
