sweet-stuff paradise. i'm normally someone who can resist cakes, pies, doughnuts, and all things bready--except when i visit gerard's bakery. everything in the place is in the you-must-try-it-once-in-your-life category. the sights and smells in this bakery can take your breath away, and if you think you can resist buying a full-sized sweet something, there is likely a miniature version that will coax itself right into your hands. the brioche is buttery and wonderful, and the fruit tarts are outstanding.
the owner's european background and culinary roots are prominent at this special bakery. it's one of the best bakeries you've never visited.
