i had wanted to try this place forever since i saw it on the very prominent corner.... always packed, always a bear to park..... so i knew it had something going on. was unfamiliar with the items on the menu so asked the cashier for her suggestion..... can’t go wrong with tacos. served on corn tortillas, made with great chicken sausage pieces, they were super flavorful and i had no trouble getting three down the hatch. i ordered a la carte and the fries and cheese sauce was also recommended-wish i’d paired something different with the tacos. they were wedges and pretty heavy.... adding the cheese sauce (not cheese exactly, but not that nacho cheeze goo ya get a taco bell either.....hmmmm) was a bad idea. eventually i just got some ketchup and they were better....just not right with the tacos....
i coulda done the whole experience a bit better, so my next trip will be better informed. in my younger days i woulda torn this place apart, everything is easy to eat, full of sauce and toppings, and would certainly compliment a beer or seven..... sadly, i’m now well past eating mountains of food this wild, as well as eschewing any booze. my usual non-alcoholic brew would have made these tacos move way high on my list....i will go back-and try some other items too- but i’ll pump the brakes before i do serious damage to my innards.... this is party food, people... think it through!

for the past few days i’ve been on a cheap eats binge, and of the places i visited, both delia’s chicken sausage (west-side) and big joy grill stood out as places i would return to. delia’s west midtown location most are aware of delia’s chicken sausage dominance, but now many more can enjoy it with their new-ish, more convenient location. their “slingers”, or single sausage sandwiches are plenty filling and two would damage most folks. on this visit, i unwisely choose the hot mess slinger (chili, cheese and jalapenos) and supplemented that with an order of chorizo sliders…both very tasty, but incredibly messy and probably a little much, especially when you add on an order of potato wedges… this hot mess also left a mess on my shirt… the southern sanchez – chicken chorizo, pimento cheese and sweet pickles! we also tried the meatball, sloppy joe and slaw slider, along with a three way (chicken sausage, krout, chili and an ass load of slaw) and the aforementioned potato wedges. wedges, and the “three hot chicks” sliders i told you there was a lot of slaw… all of this food was under $30 and easily could have fed 3 – 4 people instead of the two that ate it. delia’s is cheap, fast, delicious and is perfect for a tasty meal on the go! the day before, i hit up relative new comer big joy fresh grill bar off of delk rd. in marietta, just north of the perimeter. they specialize in korean-style fusion tacos and other asian treats like dumplings and noodle dishes; think hankook for the north-side otper, mixed with a sub shop. if the name sounds confusing, it is; there is no bar, and while the food was good, the “freshness” somehow gets lost in the shuffle…but they do have a grill! korean bbq taco – pretty good for ~$3 their menu is very confusing as it offers several korean options like bibimbap, but also ventures into traditional burritos and quesadillas, sandwiches and subs, hot wings, fried seafood, salads, bubble teas and desserts…wow i’m exhausted. stick w/ the korean opti

i've driven by delia's original location on the east side several times, but never when i needed to eat. so i'm glad that they have added a location near georgia tech. parking is tight but probably adequate. they have a cool-looking eating area on the roof that i didn't try. and check out their choking instructions... i ordered the hot chicks sampler of sliders: one slaw, one sloppy, one meatloaf. they were all great but the meatloaf slider does the best job of showing off the sausage. i was sufficiently impressed that i bought a box of frozen breakfast sausages to take home.

different but good. it's unlike any breakfast i have ever had. it's really good and not typical. i wouldn't say it's any better or any worse than another good restaurant; it's just different. i really enjoyed it though and would definitely return.

huh? super cute decor but the food and service – ehhh. served me a salad to stay (advised when placing order) in a to go box with lid - brown and slimy shredded iceberg lettuce as the base. the buns my kids' sliders were served on, although lightly toasted, were also stale. the fries appeared to be those frozen seasoned ones. even the execution on the shake was disappointing (especially after i watched the counterman who made it lick his fingers after) - too thick to use a straw (so had to grab a spoon). no friendliness or gratitude at the counter either. we won't be back.
