dekeva's restaurant

this is located very close todarjeelingmall, at the basement of dekeling hotel. i was here for a quick lunch and ordered mixed fried rice, chilly pork and chicken momo.

the momos were generously stuffed and were very juicy. the rice was meaty and the pork was very well cooked. it tasted amazing. the prices were reasonable as well.

there is something very strange about this restaurant. i was indarjeelingfor 5 nights, and i happened to ask the boys running the place for 5 days between 1-6 pm everyday of the place is open for lunch. they constantly said to return an hour later although the restaurant did not have even a fly to kill while the joint next door, kunga restaurant was overflowing with diners. i even asked if they don't serve indians or is it reserved for locals only, the boys started laughing but were absolutely not interested. i don't think this place once renowned for its chinese food is actually functioning and is infact just a front for something else. not a single patron in the restaurant during peak lunch hours and consistently turning guests away, when kunga restaurant next door is turning away people because off so many patrons. really strange behaviour and not to mention something is quite amiss.

this is one of those unmissable hidden gems that is located right in the middle of thedarjeelingmall road area near ramada hotel. one of the very few places that serves excellent korean as well as tibetan cuisine, this cosy restaurant is an ideal place to break for a meal when you're feeling tired and want a sumptuous meal. do not miss their chicken / veg / beef bibimbap as it is truly lip smacking! their dragon bao are to die for as are their momo's and their gyathug (any type), which is a thupka like soup with large noodles. their desserts are quite nice too and no meal is complete here without ordering a hot lemon with ginger and honey - a typically traditional addition to most tibetan restaurants in the hills. eat here - you will not regret it.

i ordered a dekevas non-veg special and i was not dissapointed. if you're arounddarjeelingand asian cuisine is your go to comfort food then this the place to be.

excellent dining experience within a cozy seating with very good hot delicious food servings. the bibimbap was excellent & the dragon chicken was yumm.. yummy hot food on a colddarjeelingdecember afternoon.. satisfaction guaranteed !

on our trip todarjeelingwe went to have lunch here. this place was in my list so thought of giving it a try. the host told us in the beginning that it will take time as there was shortage of staff. we were okay with it. we waited and placed our order. we ordered one chicken steam momo and japanese ramen. momo came after 30 minutes of waiting then they informed that noodles for ramen is not there. she asked us to place something else, so we said thukpa but that also she said will take time atleast 20-25 minutes. we already waited so long and we also had some plan of sightseeing so we cancelled the order and paid only for the momo.
anyway i completely understand that due to shortage of staffs that happened and the momo tasted really good. i'm gonna give it a try again while indarjeelingto taste their other delicacies.
interior was small but cozy with 15-18 seating arrangement. but the behavior of the host of really good.

the go to place for authentic tibet food . promising taste and experience .
the best by far that i had indarjeeling.

a must visit in darjeeling! we had their darjeelonf passion fruit iced tea,darjeelingtea, beef ramen and dragon chicken bao- so so good! pasang's service was absolutely fantastic. everything here was amazing- do visit!

a must visit if you're indarjeelingand are craving for some authentic chinese. the food is delicious and the owners are very friendly!
