overpriced burnt food!. i heardgreatthings about this place, but i was extremely disappointed with not only the food but also the wait staff. $65 for two appetizers, glass of wine, and a soda is a little much. my advice, go elsewhere!

great pizza, but don't miss the pasta. fantastic food all the way around. have had one bad visit where the service was a miss and the food was sub-par, but every other visit has been amazing. all of the pizzas aregreatbut i think the real treat here are the pasta dishes.

best italian in west o. we were shocked at the quality of this place when we went to check it out during omaha restaurant week.greatitalian pizzas, fantastic cheese selection, good wine (though it is not 50% off on thursdays and sundays as their website said), homemade limoncello, and an elusive ricotta cheesecake that has never been available the 3 times we've been there, but that we're dying to try.

family owned business that is pretty authentic italian, delicious, and definitely worth traveling west for!

amazing food service and local ingredients. the wife and i being downtowners took the trek out to the shops at legacy to try dante's pizza on the claim of a coworker that it was the "best pizza in omaha" i was not disappointed. we were happy to see the interesting menu that hadgreatitalian dishes, neat pizzas and local produce!

we had the salumi and formaggi, a soup, and agreatsausage pepper pizza. the salumi and formaggi was agreatchoice and i highly recommend it! the wine selection is good here and the waitress can actually pair wines and beers. staff was prompt and accommodating even on a busy saturday. manager wasgreatat damage control when we had to move tables because of a large party and even paid for our first round of drinks. our waitress was professional and friendly and gave good recommendations.

all being said if your in the mood for a change of pace and want agreatrelaxed experience with local foods. dante's pizza is by far one of the best restaurants in omaha.

on second thought. i wasn't overly impressed after my first meal at dante's. a return visit, however, was better all around. we started with the zucchini fritti--light, crisp, and nicely salted slices of fried zucchini. the pizza, a margherita this time, was much improved--the crust still had a few burnt spots, which happens with this style, but they didn't overwhelm the flavor of the pizza. the real star was the oxtail gnocchi. the rich, creamy sauce was packed with oxtail flavor and paired well with the pillowy gnocchi. outstanding!

okay, but underwhelming. a recent trip to dante's left me feeling a little underwhelmed. while i appreciate the technique and use of local ingredients in their pizza, i didn't get agreatdeal of flavor from the giuseppe (sausage, peppers, onions, mozzarella). and while i don't mind a well done crust, the burnt spots on this one really took away from the enjoyment of it. i am certainly not saying it was a bad pizza, it wasn't. it just wasn't thegreatpizza i was expecting based on the frequent recommendation of others. of the small dishes i tried, the fingerling potatoes were the most noteworthy--hot and fresh from the oven, nicely salted and not too heavy with the olive oil. if anything, i'll have to give dante's another shot for the items on the menu that aren't pizza.
the place was packed on a saturday night, thanks largely to a mass of teens eating before their prom, and the wait was long. it's a tough situation, sure, but the staff seemed a bit slow and clumsy in getting the place back in order and sitting all the waiting diners after the prom parties left. service was fine after we were seated. there are several dining tiers, with the bar and a bocce court on the upper level. the crowd was a little too wannabe hip for my taste, but i won't penalize the place for that.

two orders of meatballs, please!. if you find yourself ordering meatballs every time you see them on a menu then you're a meatball aficionado. dante's definitely serves up a contender for the best meatball in omaha. three protein-packed meatballs only run about $7.50 and are agreatprecursor to their tasty pizza.
a simple slice of margherita pizza will leave you craving for more. their thin crust is crispy where it needs to be and saturated in flavor everywhere else. i think their pizza is the best i've had in omaha. i can eat four or five peices and not feel like i sabotaged a couple weeks of eating responsibly.
they make their own mozzarella which isn't a major feat, but it shows that they care about how their food is prepared and what ingredients are used.
i obviously like this place and would recommend it to anyone.

consistently delicious. i love this place. dante's has a high quality product with local ingredients when possible. they actually make their own mozzarella. the pizza crust is a fabulous brick oven-baked artisan bread.

my husband and i visit dante's frequently and have found that they are always on their game.

my sons and my husband find the giuseppe pizza is a perfect pizza. the meat is tastefully spicy and the rich homemade mozzarella cheese is awesome.

i love the pizza, but just tried the squash tortellini this evening. it was crazy delicious. the squash filling was creamy and full of flavor and the pasta itself was a perfect texture. the tortellini was served with olive oil and maybe some butter which allowed the squash filling flavor to really (like my 10-yr old says) "pop". totally loved this dish.

dante's hasgreatcustomer service. everyone is knowledgeable and helpful and just really nice.

best italian food in omaha. i visited dante the week of their opening and i have a strong feeling the restaurant will be a 'destination restaurant' in omaha (think m's pub, la casa) with characteristics of hipness similar to a baby blue or boiler room. the pizza isgreatbut i enjoyed the pasta even more. the menu is very imaginative, which is nice to see, especially in west o. i met the chef (nick is his name i think) and i learned that he has been training and planning for this restaurant for years, recently moving from philadelphia to omaha. omaha is lucky to have him and his new restaurant.
