worth the trip!. drove down on sat. night from richmond to enjoy a fabulous meal. the food is scrumptious,servicea delight and wonderful environment. the seafood pasta was excellent, the spicy sausage delicious & their attention to having one patron with a garlic allergy - amazing. we'll be back!

my wife and i love this place! we had out first date here in bellingham years ago, and to this day it is still one of our favorite places to go. the only reason i don't give it a 5.0 is the last few times ourservicehas been borderline awful. most of the people there you recognize everytime you go in but the last 2 times we have had an unfamiliar face which is expected . but we just left minutes ago and it is the first time i have ever left a restraunt without tipping my waiter atleast something! the funny thing is i don't feel bad about it, every other single person that helped us was so wonderful and the one waiter we had said less then 5 words " okay, okay, anything else, sure" .. we were there for over an hour. he ignored us for atleast 20 minutes as we patiently waited to ask for the check and boxes to go - best leftovers ever - and my wife asked another waiter who boxed our food and brought us our check within literally 2 minutes. other then tonight i would say hands down i recommend this place to anyone wanting to try a new place to eat, or go back to enjoy your favorites

we stopped in about 5:30pm on a monday and there were plenty of tables open.  an hour later there were people waiting.  the dinner salad was a very nice start to our meal.  my wife had chicken d'anna and loved it.  i had puttanesca with prawns and it was very flavorful and quite good with 6 prawns.  the pasta was obviously fresh, as was everything else.  we decided to have dessert.  my wife had the chocolate caramel nut torte and it was very good.  i had the cheesecake, blueberry this day, and it was also very good.  the desserts felt very european, which we like.  the decor is funky and theserviceis good.  we would definitely eat here again.

best italian food in town. the food is consistently great !! been there at least 30 x's and never had a bad meal !! only drawback is theserviceis sometimes slow but it hasn't stopped us from coming back.

to be totally fair we've only been there once. however, theservicewas incredibly slow and i attentive, the food was not great, and the atmosphere is incredibly loud. there are other italian restraints in bellingham that we enjoy much more than d'anna's.

highly recommend. d'anna's is the best italian restaurant in bellingham and surrounding area. the food is excellent andserviceis outstanding. they make you feel very welcome and the price is right too.

bistro flavor & attitude/ fine dining prices. the food here is amazing, great italian food- rich in flavors. the moment you walk in the door you are overcome with scent-sations of garlic happiness.... however it is not cheap- which is confusing because its absolutely horrid "wine tumblers", boring interiors, and mediocreservicewill have you thinking otherwise.

scott. we had a wonderful time here, spectacular classic italian food, exceptionalserviceand very relaxed. we will eat here anytime our travels take us through bellingham

unpretentious and delicious! love the simple yet cozy setting,serviceis very nice and the food fresh and super tasty. try the ravioli with the mushroom sauce, it is divine. when i lived in b'ham we became regulars and were never disappointed.

oh my gosh.. of all the restaraunts in bham, this is #2 on my list. i really enjoy my visit every time. there are a few meals to avoid (gnochi - bleh!) but by far most are very good. the cioppino is absolutely to die for. chicken parmesan: excellent. we've had other very good ones as well.serviceis always good, though they can be crowded. ambiance is good, though on cold nights, avoid the seats by the door. enjoy!

a good meal. we went to danna's and had a very good meal, and friendly and goodservicetoo.
the only things i didnt like were the lighting...waaay too bright, they need a dimmer and maybe a few candles on the tables.
...and the "wine" glass was a tumbler, not a proper glass. i think wine taste better in a nice glass.
and what is the deal with every restaurant in washington that we go to using such cheap tinny cutlery?? stainless steel cutlery isnt that expensive. every fork i used had teeth marks on it...its the cheapest cutlery i have ever seen and all the restaurants seen to use it. you'd never get away with that in vancouver.

amazing flavors!. i have traveled tons!! eaten at more restaurants than i could count in a single day! but bellingham, wa is my hometown though, so i end up spending a fare amount of time there. i am extremely picky when it comes to food. so its not a light matter that i have made a ritual out of eating at d'anna"s. theserviceis fast and personable, the prices are fare (around $15 a plate), and the atmosphere is cozy and warm.
but what really matters when you go somewhere to eat, obviously, is the quality of the food you are enjoying(or not enjoying). i've been told d'anna's makes everything, literally everything, from scratch, and if you ask me, the flavor backs up this rumor to the fullest extent. the food is always served hot, the homemade bread is always soft and fresh, and the seasoning is perfect-to-taste.
the point being, if you find yourself in bellingham, and you're hungry...... go get yourself some fresh, homemade, italiano at d'anna's!!!!
