had really high expectations for this place because i have heard such great things, but i am beyond disappointed. i am currently eating the chewiest, hardest to eat burger i've ever had in my life. the meat is awful and tastes like a rubber tire. fries and rings are good, but i will not be back.

burger and fries. we tried this place out after seeing that it received a 94% rate on urbanspoon. well guys please don't waste your time. this place is mediocre at best. the food only gets 2 out of 5 stars. i hate when i see such good reviews and then waste my money on the food and the food isn't anything like what people claim it to be. then hearing that they delete reviews they don't like that is probably why they have such a high score because they write reviews themselves to cover up their not so good tasting food.

i really wanted to be able to write a better review of this place. my fries are super and my burgers is so so. it's a frozen patty so i can't rave over it. my low score is simply based upon these things. your establish contained an epic number of flies. i was almost at the point of walking out but didn't because i didn't want to be rude. also, the place looked and felt dirty - vents, counters, tables etc. a co-worker recommended your restaurant to me which is why i stopped in and stayed out of good faith... if you could fix these things i think you all could be great. your staff was very friendly.

love this place, don't let these yuppie reviews fool you. i have had nothing but great service and quality food. this is humble local burger joint that i keep coming back to. i don't understand the bad reviews, they must be brainwashed with corporate america processed crap. they don't know what real food ingredients taste like. as far as service, nothing but friendly. these people must be real jerks when they come up to the counter. typical yups, you have to kiss their feet to impress them apparently. cleanliness is fine, just an old building with character. has charm if you ask me. highly recommend this place, the people that have their nose too far up in the air don't need to ruin it for everyone. go back to your corporate fake food and get cancer in ten years. great local place. in fact, i'm going there right now. :)

how is this 4.5 stars?. went there today with my family, our burgers were terrible, the fries were bland, the expense outrageous. two adults, a teenager, 2 kids and we spent $45 for lunch. wendy's is better. the only good review from anyone on any of the food we had was the ice cream cones are good, a statement which i cannot personally verify. the burgers taste like they're from a stack of frozen patties and are far smaller than red robin which tastes 10x better.

avoid this place like the plague if you like your money and value.

don't waste your money.. what happen to this place. the floors were covered with dirt, straws and looked like it has not been cleaned in months. let alone, the pickles they served us, looked like they were frozen and tasted horrible. no one could eat them. the hamburger was running with grease and dripping out of the bun. something tasted sour on the hamburger too. not sure if it was the pickle, or catsup. couldn't eat that side of the bun. furthermore, the service was horrible. not friendly at all. it was like, she didn't want to go out of her way for anything. being a native of colorado and have visited this place since it first started on colorado ave. i find this place very disheartening anymore. i will never go to this place again. let alone, bring in out of town guests to this place. local meat or not, the dirtiness, bad service and most of all, the way the food was prepared was shameful. this place needs a make over with everything. we visited this place on saturday the 25th of may, 2013. the quality is just not there anymore. sad really. i had not been there in almost a year and it has gotten a lot worse since then. the place seems like an old run down hamburger shop. sorry but it does. if anyone would ever really look around that place. you will see it too. sorry, i will never suggest this place to any of my out of town family and friends again. not worth the embarrassment.

absolutely horrible food. cys keeps deleting my comments b/c i'm giving a bad review.......very childish. i'm posting on every social media site, so good luck cys. grow a pair and deal with it. i would be more worried about the food than checking sites for bad reviews.

first time. my wife and i tried this after seeing it listed in csindy. definitely worth the try. we didn't go inside, but instead had the carhop come out and take our order. it was during lunch and the place was very busy but still the service was very good.

the food was reasonably priced. i actually could have just gone with the single instead of the double i ordered.

only one minor critique in that the fried mushrooms had a faint used cooking oil flavor, but not enough to ruin the meal.

i would go back again to experience a restaurant from times gone by.

a big mac by any other name.... if i'm going to be the self-proclaimed burger afficiando that i am, then i need to heed to anybody i hear giving me their #1 pick of a burger joint in the springs. so the other day during a conversation with a coworker, he let me know that his favorite place for a burger was cy's. i looked it up and decided to test it out.

cy's was every bit the greasy spoon other reviewers say it is. initial impressions upon entering: lots of families with kids! as one family would leave, another would come in. seems strange, but hey, whatever it takes to feed your kids, right? another impression, the two girls behind the counter might want to reconsider their wardrobe. one was wearing a blue jean skirt that looked like it fit her waist 2 years ago. but now that it couldn't go over her waist, it was pushed dangerously down too far. she had a permanent "inner tube" of flesh showing between her short shirt and the top of her skirt. and for the record, it wasn't a pretty sight. the other girl was talking to her about being pregnant and not wanting to spend $20 on a belly band yet. but her outfit was almost doing the same thing.

okay, so anyway, getting past that point, i stepped up to order and was led through the menu. i decided to stick with the most popular burger, fries and shake that i've heard everyone talking about. so an alaska burger w/ buffalo fries and peanut butter shake were my choices.

i'll say it up front so you can stop reading my review if you want, but cy's is perfectly average food, there is not a hint of anything outstanding in what i ate. yes, the peanut butter milkshake was made with real peanut butter right in front of me, but that didn't make it outstanding. it just made it a regular vanilla shake that had peanut butter in it. sorry, but if i want a shake worthy of raves, i'll go to crave real burgers and get the elvis with pecans and prailenes ice cream mixed with peanut butter, chocolate chips, a banana and bacon. that's a shake worthy of reviews.

the burger was secretly one of the most disappointing parts of the meal. yeah, i read the ingredients beforehand and i thought to myself "hmm...sounds like a big mac?" so when it was set down in front of me, i was not surprised at all. a quick glance at the picture i posted up and you'll see two patties that left maybe a 1/2" between the burger and the edge of the bun. as for the patties? they actually appeared to be perfectly shaped circles. this surprises me because of all the ranting and raving people have done about their callicrate hormone-free beef. i'm not a fancy-pants, but if you have this out-of-this-world-beef, then why not free form the patties, which would make them maybe reach the edge of the bun while maybe being just a smidge thinner? that would be the better approach in my opinion. as far as toppings went, cheese on the burger, liberal amounts of shredded lettuce and some thousand island dressing was all that completed this burger. this was also a letdown. mcdonalds does not rest on their laurels to let that stand. their "special sauce" has something more in it and they put pickles on it too. i didn't detect pickles on this burger. the bun was also unoriginal. i don't know if the top and bottom bun were toasted either? but it started to fall apart on me towards the end.

the buffalo fries were "okay." they were just potatoes cut into circles, then fried and sprinkles with a buffalo seasoning. they were also served with a one size too small ranch dressing cup. i had to resort to ketchup when i ran out.

so to anyone that may think i'm badmouthing cy's, i'm not. i commend them for their food and prices (my meal was $10.40) and i'm certainly not recommending you eat at a mcdonalds over this place, but if you do eat the occasional fast food chain and supplement some special occasions with an unordinary burger place to change the pace, might i recommend crave or even five guys be your choice?

good as it ever was good as it ever was no, better.. i have popped in and out of cy's for the last 20 years. it has always been good. but in the last few years it has been great. the current owners are using callacrate beef which has no growth hormones.these hormones make beef tougher.
the burgers there are fantastic. my favorite is their signature burger. the alaskan burger. a monster double decker with 1000 island that has been drug through the garden. i know, every joint has a take on the big mac kind of thing. that's okay, because it's a good idea and it works. it works at cy's very well.

awsome. hi, my name is katy i work at this lil mom and pop joint! i absolutely love working and eating here! all of our beef and grilled chicken is from ranch food direct, no hormones, no antibiotics, all organic from local farmers in colorado. and yes of course you have to freeze the beef patties, to transfer to the restaurant, but your not going to find a better tasting burger in the springs!
