too pricey. there is no complain whatsoever with the service and the menu, in fact they are very good and although it looks rather low level due to the lack of space, you quickly forget about it and start focusing on th efood.

the food is nothing special, some dishes (mainly pastas) are well made some are incredibly bad (rissotto) and some desserts are superb (tiramisu is a must). so it is a rather average restaurant.

but it is too pricey. they charge you as if they have given you agreattable, the service was flawless and the food was exquisite. for those prices you could have gotten a much better experience in other high end restaurants. it is simply not worth it.

i love this place and have gone a few times now. i love restaurants with an open kitchen because i think it really sets the ambience. it has the added benefit of transparency. i have had many dishes here and each one has been very high quality and particularly flavorful. it is agreatdate night location but be sure to make a reservation.

i have been there for couple times and cucina always be one of my favourite restaurants in calgary.

however, my experience at cucina last week was horrible. i was too excited talking with my friend, didnt notice i was holding a cup of coffee. the waitress saw my coffee and immediately using a rude tone, like i am going through the security check at airport those kind of tone, telling me i need to throw away my coffee. to be honest, i am ok to throw away my coffee but the waitress doesnt have to use such a rude tone. then the waitress allowed me to bring along my coffee but then she talked to the other waiter, then they shaked their heads, showing a disgusted face and kinda made me feel like i am not welcomed and i was the one ruining the place.

i was really upset and feel like kinda discriminated. is it because i am chinese so they can use those 'security check' tone when i first entered the restaurant? i dont know but i will never never go to cucina again, no matter howgreathow tasty the food is.

came here for a bday party and there was 20 people. service wasgreatand food was fatastic! ceasar insalata was very tasty and chicken liver parfait was good as well. i had the crispy duck breast entree and it was delicious! duck was perfectly cooked and risotto was yummy. menu is a bit pricey but will definitely be back again for a special occasion.

service wasn't at par with the meal.... went here for dinner for the big taste menu. overall, the food wasgreatand flavorful! my sister and i enjoyed it, however we didn't really get much service. the waitress came to drop off the water, 1 of our courses and the bill - that was about it. we did not get checked on once or asked how everything was. hopefully my next experience will be better if i decide to return.

we won't be going back!. four of us went to cucina a few weeks ago; we had made a reservation long in advance. they gave us the worse possible table in the restaurant. it was very busy and the waiters were constantly in our space to get cutlery and dishes.

their wine list is limited and they don’t bother to decant a $140 bottle of wine.

nothing that we had picked ahead of time from their website was available. apparently, they had some technical problems with their website. fair enough. we ordered two appetizers to find out that they were out of them by 8pm. the meat balls were quite bland, the lamb shank was just pasta with no shank, the cornish hen prosciutto was overcooked. the fish of the day was good but it was soaking in maple syrup, too sweet for our taste.

the service at cucina is okay but the food is mediocre. overall, cucina is not worth a visit. 500$ later for 4 people, we expected agreatdining experience but we did not get it. we all agreed we would not be going back to cucina. there are so many good restaurants in calgary, don’t waste your time and money here.

the waiters have beards. food was ok but terribly over priced.... as is everything in this outpost. decor was borrowed from so many design magazines in the latest authentic-fake brooklyn cum italy chic. had to wait 10 minutes to seat for our reservation next to the pos with agreatview of the office lobby. clientele was mostly 20-30 somethings. : )

treated ourselves with cucina. we spend over $100 dollars/person on this enjoyable evening. enjoyed the ambiance and the service immensely. loved having the chef come to tell us all about what we were eating and how it was prepared. we weren't blown away by the food (mains lookedgreatbut were too salty) but we would go back for the overall experience.

excellent food service and ambiance. had a girls dinner here monday night and couldn't say enough about howgreata night we enjoyed- fab wine list & delicious food. highly recommend it!

good pasta, cute restaurant, friendly service. i really liked cucina. the service staff there aregreatand the pasta that we ordered was delicious. we both ordere the spicy broccolini (sp?) pasta. i love kimchi and this pasta was made with the same spices as kimchi! we ordered a chocolate cake for dessert and it was really tasty. definitely recommend. and as a side note: jann arden was there when we were! this may mean nothing to most people... but in grade 7, she was my favorite singer so it was exciting to see her there!

charming & tasty. the room: charming and yet also stylish. love how jam packed this room is as it makes for agreatatmosphere.greatvibe.

the food: have tried several items and all have been amazing. the chocolate cake is to die for - i can't even handle how good it is. wine selection is great, liquor selection is small but well selected.

the service: generally pretty good and the team have excellent food and drink knowledge, often guiding you through selections or romancing their features without flaw.

great food, terrible service. despite sitting right beside the servers station we seemed to be wearing our harry potter invisibility cloaks. it was a beautiful atmosphere and the food wasgreatbut the experience was still ruined by our waiters aloof attitude and begrudging & rare stops at our table.

amazing.greatfood,winelist, and service! my wife's favorite restaurant now. definitely will be back!
