treated ourselves with cucina. we spend over $100 dollars/person on this enjoyable evening. enjoyed the ambiance and the service immensely. loved having the chef come to tell us all about what we were eating and how it was prepared. we weren't blown away by the food (mains looked great but were too salty) but we would go back for the overall experience.

excellent food service and ambiance. had a girls dinner here monday night and couldn't say enough about how great a night we enjoyed- fab wine list & delicious food. highly recommend it!

not good. i ordered the roast chicken. it came swimming in gravy. the accompanying salad was swimming in dressing. i mentioned this to the server who did nothing to address my concerns. i don't normally complain about food and am generally easy to please. but this meal was not appealing and it was expensive to boot. i won't be going back to cucina.

lovely lovely bistro. the hostess put down the plates on her hand and attended to me immediately when she spotted me at the door. the menu is not big but covers all the good stuff! when i could not decide which wine to get my server offered to let me taste test the two that i like. the pasta is divine! home made of course. so flavorful and hitting all the right notes on my vision of a good restaurant!

went for dinner. a bit pricey but good service and delicious food with generous portions. great atmosphere and decor although the tables are tiny. will definitely need to check it out for lunch

we started with the ricotta fritters. these were deep fried to order and served with an apricot jam. i took one bite and immediately fell in love with them. they were light, fluffy and had that melt-in-your mouth quality to it. they are seriously the best fritters i’ve ever had and i could’ve easily polished off the entire serving. very dangerous!

disappointed.. nice rustic country feel decor but the food was just mediocre. i ordered the alberta rib eye, the flavor was there but it was way too greasy. my friend ordered the squid ink linguini noodles and it was decent but nothing special. as for dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and the lemon “antipasti”. the tiramisu was okay but the lemon antipasti was like a joke. the passion fruit curd was runny and the pistachio nuts inside the pot de crème were soggy. overall, the whole dining experience was disappointing. i would rather spend my money elsewhere.

good pasta, cute restaurant, friendly service. i really liked cucina. the service staff there are great and the pasta that we ordered was delicious. we both ordere the spicy broccolini (sp?) pasta. i love kimchi and this pasta was made with the same spices as kimchi! we ordered a chocolate cake for dessert and it was really tasty. definitely recommend. and as a side note: jann arden was there when we were! this may mean nothing to most people... but in grade 7, she was my favorite singer so it was exciting to see her there!

hostess not accomodating. i was hoping to try this place for a team lunch. it's close to the office and the menue looks delicious...but then i met the hostess. i asked for a lunch reservation..she said "we don't do lunch reservations"...even for a large party..."how many"...10..."it would have to be at 11:30 and you would have to be here at 11:30"...what about a late lunch...say 1:00pm..."can't guarantee that we would have room"...what if i made it 1:30..."still can't guarantee room"...really a 1:30 lunch on wednesday...i told her not too worry there are plenty of places to have lunch in the downtown. what is wrong with this city and the lack of service.

in a brightly lit space sits cucina, a casual eatery with a strong victorian influence, making me feel like i've been transported back in time to have brunch in a summer cottage. the furnishing and decor is carefully chosen to mimic country elegance, but there's definitely some quirkiness as well when i see the portrait of chef macneil with a pig head.

went to this lovely place for a birthday and the only complaint i have its the seat or i should say stools we sat on. the food was so good,i had the pasta with bail pesto and the wonderful cheers and a beautiful dessert. will go again!

food is so good but latest visit looks to be the last. we have been to cucina numerous times for lunch, a few grab and go breakfasts , several dinners and just has my mother's birthday dinner here. the food is really good. we just went this saturday for breafast and sadly it wil be tough to get my husband to return as the service was so lacking. we waited for almost an hour with those arriving after us having eaten and left. our waiter came by once with water and to ask about another cappuccino, never with water for the tea and when we finally said we had waited far too long on a weekend before the place was even full he said the kitchen had missed an order. we were a party of three. there are many things a good server could have done to advise diners of the situation and the timing, rather than ignoring you and letting our frustraton levels rise. my husband had recently declared this as his new favourite spot but the waste of precious weekend time by inexperienced (or uncaring) wait staff has him saying he will never go back. management needs to do a better job training the staff to be cognizant of what the status is of each of their tables.

charming & tasty. the room: charming and yet also stylish. love how jam packed this room is as it makes for a great atmosphere. great vibe.

the food: have tried several items and all have been amazing. the chocolate cake is to die for - i can't even handle how good it is. wine selection is great, liquor selection is small but well selected.

the service: generally pretty good and the team have excellent food and drink knowledge, often guiding you through selections or romancing their features without flaw.

fantastic food, but i'm sorry, $18 for a sandwich with no side besides a few gherkin pickles?! we're not all oil'n'gas fat cats coming down from our 30th level perches. these price points are ridiculous, especially with such pitiful service.
