hidden gem. what a hidden gem. my wife and i were coming back from a movie and happened to drive by and saw enough cars and figured why not - this is great place. simple menu with very good quality food. we got the meatballs and margherita pizza - they were very good. pizza was light, thin crust perfectly cooked. meatballs were very tasty - apparently the owners grandmother's recipe. reasonable prices and good staff. we will definitely be back

first time and we will be back! i reccomend the fresca salad arugula parmesan reggiano, and cherry tomatoes. the house balsamic was out of this world! the pizza anna with goat cheese fig glaze roasted red peppers and onion was also amazing. my husband stuck to a simple italian panini which was also tasty. we tried some local homemade tiramisu and found it was in our top 2 favorite. it's a byob with a low fare cork fee. our waitress was very upbeat and smiling. we felt very welcome at this family owned restaurant. we will be back!

great food bad service. the food was fantastic, but our table was cluttered with empty plates and bottles, and we needed to ask our waitress multiple times to please remove. as i looked around, this was a common theme!! please teach your servers to pre-bus and all will be wonderful.

tried this restaurant around 6 on a saturday night and sat right down with no wait. i would say get there no later than 7 on a weekend if you don't have reservations because this place filled quickly and it was a bit cramped at our table at times, no big deal, there was just a large group beside us. i was pleasantly surprised by how much more expansive the menu is than what's shown on here, i had a difficult time deciding but would've been happy with many of the meatless options available. the salad was large and wonderful with the house balsamic and my pizza with smoked mozzarella was perfect! it was a bit pricey for a pizza, however i did order one of the limited time specialty pizzas. i will gladly go here any time, it's great to have such a wonderful place within a few miles from home!

great food, service is ok but i am willing to cut them a break because they are relatively new. i will get to the service later. the product carmen serves is high quality and very tasty! the arugula salad is quite possibly the best salad i have ever eaten! the zucchini pizza is to die for and their crust is super light and airy. the antipasti is fabulous too! also try the peppers app, both the hot one and the cherry one. we went to dinner w 3 other couples and brought 6 bottles of wine. we were seated at the large high top table, which is a great spot. the hostess left and no one came to our table for 15 min. they were busy but that can't happen. luckily we are all pretty easy going (some of are former waitresses/bartenders) but at least send someone over and let us know it might be a minute or two. and like a previous review - they did not serve our wine to us. it may be their policy but it would be a nice touch if they could do it. anyhow - we live very close so we will certainly be back to eat in and for take out. lastly, the owner is a local guy from lebo from a great family so it's nice to see him succeeding and we love to support him! mangia!

great food but the small portions mean you will end spending quite a bit of money to fill up. portions are adequate for children and old people but a regular adult will need two entrees.

this posting for the "beautiful kitchen" should have happened awhile ago, for it is just that. i have been to the restaurant, cucina bella, time and time again and from my experiences i have nothing but wonderful things to say about the place. when you first walk in you can just feel what the atmosphere is supposed to be about - family, friends, small talk, enjoyable company, and of course the fantastic food! no matter how many times i have been there (which is now several), i do not feel as though i am sick of any of the food they have to offer, this does not happen often. the service is also pleasant, ever helpful, always ready with a smile, possibly a small word of conversation, or a kind "is there anything else i can get for you?". some of the best treasures in dining are found where you would least expect them, cucina bella is not just a "beautiful kitchen", but a beautiful experience to treasure. i highly reccommend cucina bella as a place for anyone looking to enjoy a tremendous dining experience.

great food, bad service. first i would like to state that this review is solely based on bad service and principality, not the fantastic food. my wife and i stood inside the front dining room entrance for about 10 minutes holding a bottle of wine before we were seated and given a menu by a very nice hostess. after another 10 minutes a waitress approached our table and instead of asking if we would like anything to drink or possibly a wine glass asked "are you ready to order." i might be being a bit tough on her but the place was not busy by any stretch. after ordering we then had to grab her and ask for wine glasses. the waitress then brought glasses to our table and set them down before walking away. again i might be asking too much but if i am paying a $5 byob fee ( i know its only $5, to me its the principle), she could have possibly poured the wine instead of placing the glasses down and walking away. yes it was a screw top, no cork here. the food came out and it was outstanding. i just think what a better experience it could have been with a little effort by the waitress to accompany the great food.

cucina bella rules!. how did i not know that cucina bella existed until now? my husband and i were invited to a birthday last week ( april 18/12 ) held at the restaurant and were delighted with the food, the service, the atmosphere and most importantly, the chef----a genius in my opinion!

since we were a sizable party, we were able to taste a large selection on the menu-----antipasti, pizzas, salads. the range in the pizza selection were really unexpected. excellent dough topped with such a simpatico and imaginative variety of ingredients. our favorites were the arugula, capricciosa and one called
tartufata. i would never have imagined eating a pizza topped with fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola, truffle oil and walnuts of all things---just out of this world delicious!!!!!

the service was friendly and attentive, the ambiance relaxed and a general feeling of fun and good humor
ruled. we have already been back to taste more of carmen's excellent cooking and this time tried the
desserts-------uuuummmmm!

so do yourself a gastronomic favor and head for cucina bella soon!!!!

cucina bella- eccezionale!. just when you think that you have had dinner in every possible establishment in the south hills, you discover cucina bella. it is an unexpected surprise tucked in a residential section in the back hills between bridgeville and upper st. clair. we met chef carmen for the first time and he made us felt extremely welcome. the surroundings are warm and inviting and the food is tremendous! we had the meat ball appetizer, the sylvette salad, and the stagoni pizza. all of them were tremendous and promptly served with a warm smile. our only regret is that we did not have enough appetite left to finish off all of their generous portions to order their desserts. usually with food this of this caliber there is usually a hefty bill that comes after the fact. i am happy to report that the check was also a fantastic value coming in around $40. make sure to bring your own wine to complete the evening. we will be back soon and next time well bring our friends.

we both really liked cucina bella and we would go back. the pizza was just as tasty the next day when we ate it cold for lunch. also, our server was very friendly and happy and our food seemed to arrive at a good pace. plus, it's two days later and i am still thinking about those delicious artichokes!

excellent pizza. we had the margherita and the arugula. i liked the margherita, good crust, good sauce, fresh basil and mozarella. the arugula had a good crust, tasty prosciutto, fresh arugula. one minor flaw was the garlic flavored trufle oil, too much garlic, otherwise it would have been perfect.
waitress was very friendly and attentive.
we will return.
