if you ever find yourself in san carlos, give this place a try!  the jambalaya was excellent (the smoked chicken in particular was fantastic) with a good spice level.  chicory iced coffee was a cool, sweet contrast to the hot, hearty entrees.  unfortunately it was brunch so we didn't get a chance to try the cocktail menus but they looked formidable.  nice ambiance and friendly server.

surprisingly authentic. boudin balls were my favorite, but the po'boy was filled with crisp-fried oysters on a crunchy baguette. the gumbo was well flavored but had way too much okra for my taste, but i'm not an okra fan. i would have preferred file. the rb&r had me sweating on a hot day. what was i thinking to order that? but it was tasty. my only haggle with the dish was that the andouille was not as chunky as i'm used to - almost like bologna. still, it is definitely worth a visit, and they have abita beer.

had thanksgiving dinner here. butternut squash was yum, gumbo not so much. i don't like dark roux gumbo, shrimp creola was um um good as the dungeness crabcake too. overall, i'll be back.
