although the options for a vegetarian (or even one who also eats seafood) were limited, the food was of excellent quality. a swordfish "chef's special" meal was cooked to perfection, with the grilled steak being as tender as a pelagic fish steak could possibly be. real melt in the mouth stuff. service was par excellence, with orders taken within 5 minutes of arrival and meals taking only a few minutes longer. ambience was optimal; was offered a table inside but declining in favour of outside table due to high background noise levels was a positive step. heating was ample for a mid-winter night, and blankets were available for those nights where the gas heating didn't quite cut it. we'll certainly return!

ordered takeaway pizza. was terrible. have ordered previously and was good, but has definitely gone downhill. pizza was undercooked, too much cheese, very oily and tasteless. would not recommend.

good casual restaurant.food always great and generous servings.they are very willing to change dishes slightly for you which is impressive .staff cannot do enough to help.we will be back!

used to be a favourite, have been taking people for years. only time you'll get good service is if the owners are around. waited 40 minutes for somebody to take our order. then after 45 minutes and watching tables who arrived after use getting their entrees and mains asked where our food was, were told it was 5 minutes away. after another 15 minutes we asked again and the older woman working behind the counter rudely said 'you only placed your order 10 minutes ago'. when we informed her that they must have only put it through the system when we asked where our food was she stomped off into the kitchen. this place was an absolute family favourite but has unfortunately gone seriously downhill in the last 6 months. don't waste your time :(

went for a family dinner. was very crowded so conversation was difficult especially for some of our group hard of hearing.
nothing bad to say about the service - it was just ok, although in canberra "ok service" can often make a venue stand out from a crowd of increasingly 'less-than-ok' service. so i guess from that perspective corvina is doing quite well compared to its peers.

the food was actually really nice, but we found the servings to be too big. that was at odds with some of our party who love a massive plate of food, but we found it was just too much to enjoy - especially as the dishes are quite rich and heavy.

definitely worth a visit, but not quite on my 'must return to' list yet.

worst dining experience. owner's son was very abusive and aggressive.  we were dining with a group of people with an intellectual disability.

hubby and i shared some arancini as we had had a big lunch already. these were filled with veal ragu and had a blanket of napoletana sauce. they were pleasant and filling, if somewhat bland. we both would have liked a bit more flavour and spice in them. but they were house made which always adds a few extra points in my estimation.

the bil and i both indulged in the seafood linguine. the pasta had a decent quantity of mussels, calamari, prawns and vongole atop it. the lemon and white wine sauce was a nice change from the (too) tomato-ey sauce you often get in italian restaurants. but i would happily have had the garlic and chilli upped to a spicy level on this dish. and perhaps a wee bit of cream would have melded the dish together. i think you get my drift here; the food was well-presented and tasty but i kept wishing for more robust flavours.

the restaurant is licensed; the service friendly and prompt; the food well-presented and tasty. it was a little bit strange for us as it was still full daylight when we got there. coming from queensland we are not used to long twilights. once the sun had gone down, the ambience was just that bit more enticing. all in all, you certainly get value for money here and will have yourselves a very pleasant evening. our bottle of wine was $20 which is a bargain in anyone's estimation. canberra is lucky to have such a family friendly and welcoming restaurant in its suburbs.

amazing wait staff and exceptional food, could not fault this restaurant simply incredible. will most definitely be back in the near future.

the food is always delicious and keeps me coming back! rarely do i crave meals from restaurants to repeatedly return, but corvina has me hooked... here are some of my recommendations:

bruschettea - a simple italian dish, yet so many places seem to get it so so wrong. corvina easily offers the best bruschetta i have had to date. the bread is perfectly toasted, and there is a perfect amount of ingredients so that you get it all in one bite, without have heaps left on the plate with no bread. the balsamic just caps it all off, i love it...

ravioli - comes with 3-4 sheets, we usually get this as part of our entree and share!

the streak with creamy mustard sauce (i forgot official name) - such a unique sauce, i haven't had anywhere else, so i usually get this when i come here...

veal w lemon/chilli - great dish, again another unique flavour, i get this if i am going for something a little lighter and less creamy...

the choc mint mousse is also very very good when they have it, but it is usually only on the menu as a special from time to time...

the staff are so easy going, and generally happy to customise a meal if you would rather roast veges over mash (or vice versa), or just want greens. you never find yourself waiting around trying to flag someone down for a drink or anything, they are very attentive! love love love!

food and atmosphere. i am a vegetarian and on special request ordered a pasta dish. best italian i reckon. pleasant and lovely staff.

good food. we went on a wednesday night in october and were surprised at how busy it was - there were a few large tables. i had fish of the day, which was beautiful and a very generous serve. my friend had clams in linguini which was thoroughly enjoyed. wine by the glass had good options. we found the service to be good.

the mushroom salad is excellent and the chicken salad is very good

great night but. we. visited corvina restaurant on the night of 10 october friday night and took our friends with us
the food was great,service good,garlic bread amazing,we all had a pasta dish except my husband who had seafood dish.

later that night my husband was in agony for hours pains in stomach and then he vommitted his heart out,we rang restaurant and spoke to fiancé of one of owners,and they took our phone number
my husband felt they were fobbing him. off,he wasn't angry he just wanted to notify them ,nobody has rung back or offered anything to us,not good

corvina restaurant. the worst service i have ever experienced. not only did we not get what we ordered, but we did not even get offered dessert or coffee. the food was great, it is a pity they don't have he service to match. i will not be back!

best italian in canberra!!. i went in to corvina last thursday, the staff were super friendly and provided great service.
the food was absolutely scrumptious, and came out promptly. the wine was reasonably priced and the two italian boys sangiovese was fabulous. there is a great range of food and drinks, and the staff were all very knowledgable about the items on the menu. it was an outstanding evening, we will definitely be visiting again soon!
