copper chimney, an eye catching desi restaurant, near the business bay metro exit, is worth a visit for its unique touch to the north indian cuisine. founded by mr j k kapur in 1972, his dream has lived to its reputation for almost 5 decades.
ambiance is welcoming as we enter from the valet parking side, through millennium plazas plush lobby. restaurant itself is spread over 2 floors, sporting memoirs of its founder with bollywood celebrities, and hanging bells reflecting on the mirror along the staircase. high safety standards were visible, while carefully gapped tables offered decent privacy.
we started with variety of welcome drinks like masala cola, virgin mojito, lemonade and rasleela offering a much needed cool down before we could march towards the food. appetizers were cripsy kadak roomali and complimentary papad palate with variety of chutneys as condiments, set the pace for starters.
skewers with charcoal grilled paneer, cauliflower, potato and pineapple were slowly cooked which retained the juice as well as taste. dilli ki aloo chat took us on a journey to chandi chowk, without passport.
cheesy mushrooms were the real highlight of the day. soft mushroom melted in the mouth before even a bite, oozing a cheesy taste, which left us asking for more.
all this while, staff were polite and friendly and checked if we liked the food and if everything was okay.
main course consisted of paneer butter masala, dal makhani and roti basket. all the items were freshly prepared, did their job of filling the last corner of our stomach. while paneer and daal were good, vegetable biryani, is worth a mention. cooked in a clay pot, it was served with a sweet raita, & was one of the best ever had in dubai.
one cannot leave without trying their patiala kulfi, yummiest desert to seal the day with a sweet.
copper chimney is a family freindly live kitchen experience, which you should definitely visit, to spice up an evening or a weekend lunch.
