once upon a time, fish was cheap and "fish and chips" places catered primarily to a lowerclassof clientele. as fish has become more scarce and harder to catch, the prices have gone up to the point where fish & chips are now a middle-upper middleclasstreat. and cook's fills exactly that role. family restaurant, diner atmosphere, order at the counter, fish & chips, well prepared. first place i've found in the states where they actually tell you what kind of fish is on offer, just like the do in the commonwealth.
if you like fish & chips, this is the place. make a trip for it. but you have to like fish & chips because there really isn't much else here. luckily, i do.
