drove 30 miles for these cookies.. i first stumbled on cookies from home when i was walking along mill ave during the tempe arts festival. they then moved their store to the current location on west university for expansion purposes. some businesses lose their quality with growth. not so here. i love these cookies and would drive from north scottsdale to tempe (30 miles) to get them.
what makes them so good was the freshness of texture and taste. i don't know their recipe or their specificingredientsbut by taste alone i suspect they do not use any artificialingredientsor appear to use anything to prolong their life.
the cookies are layers of different tastes and textures. not just an oatmeal cookie. an oatmeal cookie with oatmeal, butter, nuts and fruit. each bite is a collection of flavors and textures that roll over your tongue and bring various memories from when i was little. the same with the chocolate chip cookies. the cake part of the cookie has textures from theingredientsof butter, eggs and flour cooked at just the right temperature. the chocolate appears to be a quality brand and are irregular sized chunks. simple flavors in complex combination.
