so conflicted.. i was visiting my fiance who lives on the base in coronado, and he was talking my ear off about these amazing cinnamon rolls that he and the guys love! they go there every sunday morning for breakfast, so i was expecting stellar everything! but i was extremely let down when we walked in for dessert and nobody even looked in our direction. there were 4 people including the cook working in this tiny diner and not one of them greeted us. my fiance said it's always like that, but he goes back for the breakfast and desert, which i have to say was amazing. best cinnamon roll i have ever had! they also have a milk and cookies dessert that i thought was pretty cute, though the cookies are not fresh (they unwrap them and heat them in front of you) and i had to sit there for 10 minutes before i gave up and had to ask to be served. even then thewaitressdid not speak other than to ask what we wanted, never mind look up from her pad, and she did not come back to check on anything, then again i had to ask for our ticket after sitting there with empty plates for another 10 minutes. there were 4 other small groups of people and they all seemed to get the same service, so i can't even say it was just our waitress. i was awaitressfor several years and i work as a customer service rep currently, a smile goes a long way but these people didn't even make eye contact. i will definitely go again for a cinnamon roll, but with much lowered expectations of what to expect service wise.
