lemon tree
one of the latest places in coimbatore, decided to go for a family dinner.
the place and ambience:
it's situated well off from the buzzing city crowd. but it's in a well developing area of kalapatti where it's surrounded by many it parks and industries.
thehotelis well maintained. but we initially had a problem with the parking and had to wait for 5 minutes to enter as no valet came to our attendance. the ambience was something very pleasant and we got comfy feel.
the food:
we were confused at the large menu as to what is their special and what would they recommend. so after much discussion, the food for 3 of us goes like,
1) starters:
for starters we ordered a half tandoori murg in chicken which was really flavorful and well done, no undercooked pieces and we loved it.
next was gounder style milagu perathal- mutton. this we asked it to be a bit less spicy and it was done in well south indian flavours, felt it could have tasted better as it had lot of coconut in it which stole the taste away.
2) main course:
i personally went for indo-chinese cuisine. i ordered the kung pao style chicken and egg and chicken hakka noodles. it was a good dish and nothing could go wrong there as it's one of the traditional dishes of every chinese restaurants. i liked it.
parents ordered the varuthu aracha chettinad curry- mutton and some naan bread to go with it. this one was a let down. it is said the curry was made from 26 spices, but it felt way over the top as we couldn't really get the exact flavors out of it. we are yet confused on how it tasted. it didn't go really well. but the meat was cooked to perfection. i would think to order that again
the staff:
the staff was one of the plus point on the experience. extremely courteous, we'll mannered and professionally kept place. we were all happy about their behavior. good job.
conclusion:
it's one of the places that will be open 24×7 and they have a good dine line. would definitely recommend this place. it's worth the try, if you are willing to travel the distance for food.
ps: excuse the picture quality and tidiness. we were served as soon as the food arrived and no time to take and pictures.

lemon tree
hello everyone

i am happy to have a lemon tree in coimbatore which by the way is my favouritehotelto stay wherever i travel in india.

before talking about the food i must talk about the chefs in citrus cafe. you may not see such happy to serve you chef anywhere in any otherhotelin india. they dont only serve you food but always welcome opinions and remember your taste the next time you visit them. special names to be mentioned ... chef suresh, chef quraishi and chef nagaraja.

now for the food.... if you are craving for some authentic north indian or for some finger licking sandwiches or continental salads lemon tree citrus cafe is your destination. i never tasted the south indian food in citrus cafe but heard from friends that its really authentic. the ambience of the restaurant is very posh.

the food we generally order is

mutton roganjosh -5 / 5 ( thanks to mr qureshi )
mutton biriyani. - 5/5
chicken tikka butter masala -- 5 / 5 ( special to mr suresh )
kashmiri aloo -- 5/5
vegetable mix curry -- 5/ 5

standard lemon tree club sandwich -- 5/ 5
chicken salad -- 5/5 ( thanks to mr nagaraja)

thanks to the chefs and the servers who are not only friendly but feels like home now. thanks a lot for so many lovely meals !!!

lemon tree
stayed in this place last month for celebrating our wedding anniversary. had a good stay, uber luxury, sophisticated hotel, high-tech safety services, very good ambiance, in all good service. thehotelwhere its located is open, away from pollution, if you side aside the pool for sometime, you can hear peacock's singing, open fresh air, mild rain which i enjoyed as i am from a crowded and polluted city (mumbai).

we had dinner which was pretty good, but over priced for a location like coimbatore

as we are south indians, ordered mostly the south indian cuisine,

for starter
gounder style milagu perathal-chicken     5/5
guntur vepudu-chicken                             5/5
rawa fried fish                                           2/5

i was disappointed with the 3rd dish as the fish they used was cheap. (i mean fish is good, but the cheapest fish in the market, for which we paid high price for it)

for main course:-

pallipallayam kozhumbu-chicken                     4/5
varatha archa  chettinadu curry-chicken         4/5
dal fry                                                               5/5
steam rice                                                         5/5

the above chicken gravies sounds very south indianish, but they had some north indian flavors. the chettinadu curry was not having the pure chettinadu flavors. but still they were good.

in all enjoyed my stay there and would happily recommend everyone to have a stay, when you are around coimbatore
