one of austin's best. i've been eating at cisco's since the mid-seventies, when i used to come to austin for state business from el paso; originally because the food reminded me of ep food. the bisquets are amazing, the enchiladas authentic, and the migas define "migas" for me! as they say, this place is reminiscent of the "old" austin, when we were a small college town with added hippies and cowboys and local hispanics and politicos... everyone came to cisco's. it is a landmark of austin! jn

cold food and bad service. i am not sure how this restaruant recieved a high rating. the food was cold and the portions were small and overpriced. the food was not at all authentic mexican cuisine. the service was very bad too. i would not reccomend this place to anyone, ever!

cisco’s has been serving tex-mex for breakfast and lunch since the 1950’s, so i cannot imagine how i was able to live here for 16 years before discovering this east austin institution. now that i have tasted the unbelievable migas served with tender fajit

cisco's. full of austin politicos, history & best of all migas & biscuits. the red sauce on the migas is grade a, super power enabling, space crack.if you can eat only one breakfast for the rest of your life-- this would be the place to order that breakfast & you'd live happily the rest of your days with the memory.

kids won't go hungry. my european husband and i visited cisco's during a trip to visit austin, before we knew we would live here. the two things that stick out in my mind are how friendly the family-staff were, and how much food the children at the table next to us ingested. the kids were all easily under 8, each polished off a whole meal, and after paying, filled the rest of the tortillas and the buns on the table with mustard and ketchup, and then polished those off too.

but what should really mean something is the food. the service was very friendly, and the food was excellent. simple, real ingredients and hot when served. we had the migas and the quantity was just right. not too much, nor too little.

my favorite part about cisco's is how the back room looks somewhat like an old western jail cell, and how long it has survived as a family run establishment.
