cilantro thai & sushi restaurant

got the chicken pad thai and chicken egg rolls .. both were super dry. not slit of food for the price. way better thai places around.

in all honesty, the thai food at this restaurant isn't all that it's hyped up to be. there are far better thai restaurants in the area. also, this place has horrible service. the waiters and waitresses are very unfriendly and do a horrible job at tending to the needs of the people they're serving. i've given this place many chances and they always get my order wrong. not only that, the only time they ever come by the table is to take my order and to give me the check. when i needed a new fork because there were pieces if rice on it, i couldnt get their attention because the majority of the workers were just standing by the front just talking to each other. i've given this place a chance and i refuse to go back. there are many other restaurants with excellent service and much better food.

a large group of us went to cilantro last night for a party that we had reservations for. we were seated almost one hour after our scheduled time. not everyone's food came out correct and the hot & sour soup and cabbage slaw salad was terrible! on to the good notes...the prices,sushi, shrimp and drinks were great!

not a fan. far restroom, average food, underwhelming management. not impressed.

the place is much bigger on the inside that i anticipated. being that it’s a storefront in a downtown area, i wasn’t expecting much past the seating area you can see from the large front windows. this was where we sat – and while we never got up and wandered around (because, well, i think they tend to frown on that in restaurant settings), we could see the large bar from our seats, as well as a back room area that looked even larger than where we were seated.  i think there’s a patio, too, so this place may possibly end up as a contender come summer patio season. a quick side note for those who have sports obsessed husbands like mine – cilantro does not have televisions. so when dining on a night when, say, the browns are announcing their

the place is nice decorated, but some furniture could be fresher. especially seats, that have severe signs of use and especially liquid damage. service was pretty good, but food was not. we ordered soups, new zealand mussels, and sashimi. soups were all right. instead of new zealand mussels we got common mussels. and nobody warn us upon order. moreover it appears that waiter was not aware about the substitution. after we ask he checked with kitchen and says that yes, it's actually blue mussels, it was changed but menu have not been updated yet. i can understand that waiter might do not know difference, but i can't understand why administration or whoever decided to substitute new zealand mussels with cheap regular ones have not cared at least notify waiters. sashimi was from frozen fish. moreover mackerel was not properly unfrozen and just had solid ice inside. well, i was not surprised after mussels at all...

really good food for thai and japanese cuisine lovers. this place is very clean and smells good (and not just the food). very charming service with coalescing atmosphere. the curries are scrumptious.

mmmhmmmm. i recently dined in at the cilantro thai & sushi restaurant in akron and i will tell you, it was a sexual experience. i had ordered the lard nar mee krob which was plated provocatively. it just looked so delicious. my baby daddy ordered the crab ragoons which i did not want to try because i don't really care for crab but, he popped one in my mouth and i will tell you they are divine! they also deliver which is nice because i work nearby, they do not deliver alcohol though. i would go back here again in a heartbeat. i love this place so much that when my baby is born, if it's a boy, i'm going to name him cilantro.

not vegan friendly!. i was visiting akron for the weekend and went here on a friday night with a group. lots of people recommended the mock duck curry so that's what i ordered and it was exceptionally good.

so good, that i went back on saturday night to get some takeout. even though i ordered mock duck curry and the receipt said "mock duck curry", it was full of animal flesh.

if you order it, thoroughly inspect it to ensure you don't accidentally eat a dead animal.

far too expensive. there are much better and cheaper thai restaurants in the area. here you are paying for the location and many interior decorations if for nothing else as the prices are too high. far too expensive. the location caters to a particular segment of the dinner and lunch population in this town. i do not belong to that crowd. this part of akron has been renovated and refurbished in many fundamental ways to make eating there very expensive. it might be an effort to turn akron into what it isn't. not as high quality food if you are knowledgeable about thai food. do not be misguided by the interior decorations. i wonder if during warmer months there can be enticements galore to get people there to eat outside. proximity to the ball park is not an excuse to waste time and money at this place. this aspect of an urban atmosphere is not healthy to our health either. walk around and notice the range of prices for food at near by places that are trying to capture the down town sleek affluent crowd.

impressive!. the boyfriend and i were craving good asian food and since he is on a kick to eat a lot of spicy food. i'm not. we went there on a whim, and were very impressed. if i had read the most recent reviews, i never would have considered this wonderful place. wonderful ambiance, and the service was topnotch. our server was so fast. we ordered edamame for our app and it was out in a flash. so were our meals. my singapore noodles were delish. i asked for mild and they were, but so flavorful! his spicy noodles were very spicy and he loved it. we eyed the sushi bar and everything made there looked scrumptious. we will be back. the lunch prices are more budget friendly than the lunch, but we still felt it was a good value.

if it weren't for my friends, they would have ruined my birthday dinner. horrifying is the word i would use to describe our experience at cilantro. where do i even start? it was my birthday dinner with 6 of my friends. we had been seated about 20 minutes before we received our drinks (and don't even expect to get a refill if you ordered pop). then, of everyone's appetizers, the waiter forgot mine, happy birthday to me! our waiter then refused to take our dinner order until he had boxed up our appetizers, although we repeatedly asked. then, when our dinner arrived, almost half the table couldn't eat theirs because it was too spicy, even though they ordered no spice. to top it off, i had something that looked like a staple in my food!! again, happy birthday to me!!! our dinner lasted over 3 hours....which was not planned. and, for the icing on the cake, gratuity was added to our meal, and one of my friends had a $49.59 gratuity added to an $88.18 bill, a 56% tip!!!!!!!!! i'm outraged, i will never go back, thanks for the wonderful birthday dinner cilantro!

another fantastic meal. also had a nice chat with the owner. a great guy who takes pride in his restaurant.

great menu, open and airy seating. beef salad was wonderful. nice portion and everything was very fresh. i will be back to try the curries.

cilantro. went to cilantro on a date. it was nicer than i expected on the inside. beautiful environment. the food was delicious, especially the eel roll. the only bad thing i have to say is that our service was slow. i didn't get my drink until after the appetizer was out. i might go again.

a must visit!. easily one of the best thai and sushi restaurants in the region! not only is the service exceptional, but their prices are fair for an amazing meal. there is a wide variety of choices, servers are willing to help you get exactly what you want, and a very clean atmosphere. their outdoor patio is a wonderful time for relaxing on warmer days and the indoor dining is quiet, clean, and, exquisite. if you are in akron and hungry, this is the place to go. there is something for everyone.
