tasty breakfasts. we enjoy having coffee with their cinnamon coffee cake as well as other breakfast items. friendly staff, clean restaurant, reasonable prices.

simply awesome!. i'll fess up... i hate "tomato soup", so imagine my "delight" when a friend suggested we go here to have their famous tomato bisque soup... i am so glad i did! it is amazing, as was everything we have ever had there! i make it a point to go there often!

had dijon chicken; unremarkable, and the mashed potatoes were flavorless.

cioppino was a tad bland, but nice seafood combo. the pulled pork sandwich was soggy with too much sauce. service was good, and good location.

so so place. went there for lunch after attending a wedding. service was good. food was ok at best. we mentioned it was a wedding and they did say congratulations. service dropped off when they found out it was a gay wedding. didn't even offer a comp dessert to the two guys. won't be going back!

not at all impressed!. the food is barely adequate for what you pay.
most of what you eat tastes and looks like it comes from a can or is pre-packaged and is not made by the cook.
the salsa for my huevos rancheros looked like pace picante sauce. the potatoes are not well seasoned.
most of the dishes are uninspired, but it is one if the few places in downtown edmonds that serves a decent breakfast so it is always packed, especially on weekends.
it is a cute littlle place and the service has been decent during my visits.
in my opinion "get a rope"!

worst eggs benedict i've ever had, but the price isn't bad. too many other great choices in edmonds to wait in line for this place. also the service is very poor.

dinner before a show. chanterelle's is a great place for dinner and a glass of wine before a movie at the edmond's theatre. sometimes they have a lamb that is drop-dead delicious. love their cioppino, love their seafood salad. i think they make the best tomato basil bisque i have ever tasted. (also good for lunch, with soup and sandwich specials, delicious sandwiches and great salads.)

server was nice but not very smart and unresponsive to my disappointment with my dish. my salmon was overcooked and mashed potatoes with thick and pasty. the clam chowder was great but then my excitement for the caramel dessert was dampened when she offered me a steak knife "because the caramel is too hard and it tends to shoot across the table.". um... if you know the food is inedible, try doing something about it! i suggest heating that caramel dessert up so it's not a danger to customers. i almost lost an arm trying to cut thru it! the wasabi over tuna with coconut rice that my hubby ordered was better than my dish. i will give this place another try, though.

good place for coffee, light breakfast and dessert. had dinner there the other night and requested a lunch item. owner said it was too difficult to do. ridiculous when the place was at less than 50% occupancy. service was wonderful. extremely helpful and fun waiter.

always crowded, food varies. chanterelle's famous for their tomato bisque and their broccoli salad. the crowds of people you see there are there for those items.
everything on their menu that you would expect at an american cafe, is pretty good. don't get anything ethnic, it's like going to taste of india and getting the fettuccine alfredo; you could, but why would you?
stick with salads, soups, seafood and sandwiches- the bulk of their menu. their desserts are great, their coffee quite pedestrian.
if you get the chance, get the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. you will love it.
