they conveniently open at 10 on weekends so i went for breakfast. add the colourful semi-outdoor dining areas and reggae music and it’s a good place to hang. the jerk combo had an enchilada and a tostada with chicken, rice, beans and cabbage on it. they both had the same shredded chicken so maybe a bit pointless as a combo but the chicken was good with a rich jerksaucewith a medium heat level that lingered for quite a while afterwards. maybe a bit expensive but it was a big breakfast.

on the beach is cha cha chicken. no frills place with outdoor and indoor seating. the batter fried chicken and the chicken burgers are what this place is famous for. the jerk chicken with its mustardsauceis great. cha cha chicken leaves you on your own and there is no concept of service. the good food and abysmally low prices makes this place a must go.

i came here on a late monday afternoon to avoid the crowds and i have to say, i now understand the weekend mobs that flood this establishment. so, who wants some jamaican jerk chicken? cha cha chicken prides itself in serving "carribbean cuisine with latin fusion." for this review, i went with their signature chicken dish for a very filling late lunch. i will say that the medium jerksaucethat this oven roasted, fall-off-the-bone chicken smothered in spiced jamaican jerksauceis just divine. i chose the medium levelsaucethat had just enough zip to make it interesting (it's also their most recommended).

the enchilada plate included grilled chicken rolled in corn tortillas and then doused with jerksauce(a mix of scotch bonnet peppers, allspice, thyme, brown sugar, and plenty of garlic). my youngest, who is just learning to appreciate caribbean flavors, opted for the coconut fried chicken and was persuaded to dip it into the jerksaucethat came to the side. the fried plantains were an instant favorite, especially when i pointed out the plantains are like firmer, less sweet banan - see more at: http://www.wanderingeducators.com/best/traveling/raising-adventurous-eaters-lesson-fusion-food.html#.dpuf

yum. if you like chicken and you like spicy, you will enjoy the food here. although it is not authentic jamaican jerk, their chacha chicken is flavourful, thesaucehas a mexican flare to it and the meat is juicy and ohsogooood. the atmosphere is quite nice as well, you can sit outside under colourful beach-y umbrellas and what not.

...plays a steady reggae groove while doling out mouth-watering portions of jerk chicken enchiladas done jamaican style smothered in their sweet spicy mango/pineapple jerksauceor spicy black pepper shrimp sautéed with pineapple and garlic and reduced in a sweet spicy jerksaucethat's served with dirty rice and black beans, plantains and red cabbage slaw. just writing that makes the monster hungry. and wish he always had such delicious d
