this place was popular, and it's no wonder given the good bbq and the great atmosphere.

one of the best. whenever i am in memphis i have to stop by and have dinner/lunch or pick up a pound of bbq to take back to birmingham. prices are great for the quantity of pork on the sandwichs or bbq nachos....... always a line at lunch... but it moves fast.... great outdoor seating too....

it was ok. i visited this place once so far. i didn't like the bbq sauce very much it seemed to be a little watered down. the meat tasted fine though, it had very good flavor. i would go again to give them another chance so as not to base my whole opinion on only one visit.

good q. service was a little slow but the atmosphere is busy and the patrons friendly. we went for dinner and had intended to share a salad and the 3-meat special (pulled pork, ribs, brisket), but the meat portions were so small that i decided to just have the salad, which was fresh and served inside a large red taco shell. my dinner companion was satisfied by his meal, but if you are looking for generous sharable portions for the same price, go to the germantown commissary instead.

yummy. never had bbq nachos until i came to memphis. i like 'em. central has some of the best. patio deck is a great place to hang out too!

yum. loved the dry rub wings! tried to go on a weekend but the line was out the door and well around the corner. so we ultimately went on a tuesday afternoon and had a great experience!

speaking first to savories, suffice it to say that much like other spots in memphis the reason to visit central is undoubtedly the pork, and although the pulled shoulder was slightly leaner than one sees in kansas city or north carolina the flavor was both moist and quite rich, a similar description applicable to the smoky mopped ribs, though far less so for both beef and chicken that was almost inedibly dry without the addition of plenty of sauce.

went to eat here tonight. the food tasted great but my bbq sandwich was poorly constructed and there was literally two bites of meat on it! and my side of mac n cheese came out 15+ minutes after my sandwich. that was disappointing.. plus my child's kids meal came out after we were done eating. so i ended up feeding him my side of mac n cheese while waiting on a hot dog. a hot dog! what in the world? i don't know if we will be back which is unfortunate because the food tastes good but we were very saddened by our experience tonight.

not the best.. traveling from very northern wisconsin, i wanted to eat the best barbeque when i visited memphis in may. i heard so much about central bbq. i really disliked having to order everything at a service counter. even sitting at the bar, i had to go to the service counter to get a beer. their bbq hot wings were great. i thought their pulled pork was dry and not special. not my favorite bbq in memphis.

the pulled pork is amazing. the ribs, however, were dry and not close to the best i've ever had. there's a reason they've one best bbq sandwich...get the pulled pork.

we took them to central bbq for the nachos and ribs. that was definitely a good choice. seriously, so good.   i mean, look at those smiles. clearly they enjoyed it. ps. check out the rest of the list here .

im so disappointed at the fact that i'm just now learning about this place. the food is good and most of the staff was very friendly!
