carvers steaks & chops

i had the lamb chops with a lavender champagne glaze. everything was perfectly cooked, the server was knowledgable and efficient and it was a great meal all around.

carvers is the best!. excellent place! i came to dayton late last night. we had one of the most amazing experiences ever! the service was incredible as well as the food! we felt like family in this place, it was incredible. then, we get our meals. we both had the filet and it was one of the best steaks i have ever had!

our first pick was to eat at j. alexander's, but they had an hour wait, so we decided to give carver's a try. unfortunately, i can't even give a rating based on our dining experience.

my girlfriend and i were seated right away, but we were completely ignored! several waiters walking by, some busy, others looking like they had nothing to do. we left after being seated for ten minutes. what's most bothering is the hostesses appeared to be glaring at us as we were on our way out, not saying a word to us.

there is a silver lining at least; we decided to wait at j. alexander's. in the end, we had a memorable dining experience there.

we will never return to carver's. it's a shame so many steakhouses are disappearing throughout the country. the way carver's does its business, i can certainly understand why.

this fine dining destination hits the classics — good steaks, good cocktails, seafood and classic american foods. while a lot of new restaurants come and go, and trends rise and fall, places like carver’s endure with a consistent experience and an austere reputation.

horrible steaks and service. i had a client coming in for a dinner meeting, i recommended carvers " one of the best steaks in dayton" we arrived the dinning room was all but empty put us at a small table when there were many that would be more comfortable.
the waiter was on the spot with our drinks and water, offered no bread, again the dinning room was empty, he disappeared, 20 min later we got his attention, ordered appetizers and our steaks and sides, appetizers came out in 10 min, asked again for drinks, our meals arrived.

scalloped potatoes were stone cold.... my filet was in two pieces, with a burnt end and a undesirable crust, terrible! asparagus was also cold., my guest ny strip steak was fatty and did not have a great appearance. my guest said: "worst steak he has ever had period"
my other guest also complained about the quality of the filet.

do not know if we will ever be back.

whoo, don't go early and sit by any of the wait staff what a display of unprofessional behavior nothing but bad noise and there gossip they should be fired.

carvers. what i really like about this place is just not the food and the great service, but i can walk in and get seated, the bar is friendly and serves great martini's with stuffed olives with blue cheese.

mister. carvers steaks & chops is our favorite place to dine in rhe dayton ohio area.

yes!. you cannot find a more delicious steak in the dayton area. top notch service and great atmosphere! don't even think about going somewhere else for dinner!

really good steak - filet and strip steak cooked perfect. the au gratin potatoes are to die for! the crab cake and shrimp cocktail were very good. great live band in the lounge - stayed til closing to have cocktails and dance!

me and my wife travel all around the country and carvers is our favorite restaurant great steaks and a great wine list.
we especially enjoy fridays and saturdays live entertainment for dinner and dancing in one place.

amazing!. if you're looking for a place with a good wine selection, friendly staff, and great food, carver's is the place to go! we had an overall great experienece there. our server was wonderful and food was delicious! the most impressive thing was there wine list! i love to try new wines and they had a four page wine list to choose from! i will definatley be back!

very disappointing. we journeyed to carvers to celebrate my daughter-in-law's birthday. our cocktails were good. the calamari was the best i've ever had! the caesar salad was bland, and the house salad was simply bag o' lettuce. then came the main course event - the meats. the prime rib was a total disappointment. the serving was small and thin. the meat had very little taste and an unusual texture. (tenderizer??) the steaks were similarly tastless. in addition, our server spilled a drink all over my daughter-in-law and simply brushed it off as "oh, the glass was too full". this was not the kind of meal experience we expected or should have received for a bill over $200! we will not be back!!!

tenderizer?. on 12/08/2012 i ordered the ribeye steak, it appeared to be a fine cut of beef well marbeled. however after the first taste i should have know better. the taste of the tenderizer used was so over whelming that it was difficult to taste the steak. i only consumed half the steak and was lucky to make it home only 5 miles down the road before the tenderizer took it's debilitating effects on my digestive system. why anyone would do this to a fine cut is beyond me... i would strongly suggest that one request a cut of beef that had not been tenderized. other than that it was fine dining.

outstanding!. if you go anywhere in dayton for restaurant week, this is the place to go. filet mignon, bread, salad, potato, and creme brulee....all for $25.12! everything was delicious (steak was cooked perfectly and the mixed green salad with goat cheese and pinot gritio viniagrette dressing is to die for!) and service was great considering it was restaurant week and friday night! word of advice...make reservations.

good food . friendly but slow service. overall ok, would go back when i don't have to be anywhere soon.

well worth the trip. outstanding service and food. steaks are top-notch, but don't forget the pork - it is equally fantastic. this experience will not come cheap, but is well worth the value. not sure i can think of anyone in the area (off the top of my head) that is as friendly and treats their clientelle with as much respect.
