due to its close proximity, about a year ago i decided to whip into carusos for a quick lunch. i happen to hit happy hour. that sentence had a lot of "h"'s. one of the best happy hours in town for anyone who enjoys beer; $2-dollar micros. say whaaaaat?! scanning their menu, i opted to order the lloyd, aka the vegetarian, and proceeded to be a complete pain in the ass by modifying so many times it became a completely different sammy all together...then i added turkey. the dude helping me was extremely helpful, patient and honestly a lot nicer than i would have been had the tables been turned. i may have also been hung over. i also had my beer before my card was swiped. did i mention i like beer?
having never eaten here before i noticed other patrons' sandwich selections and presumed that thebreadmight be dry by its appearance. boy, howdy, how wrong i was. when my sandwich arrived (in a very timely manner), my first bite proved thebreadto be, how do i describe this, like, canbreadbe called moist without it being wet? it was super soft and fluffy. turns out they bake it fresh every day. i can barely shower every day, so they got one on me.
the order was perfect, a million mods and all, beer was so good i had another (2 beers for less than a single pint anywhere else), and their half sandwich is the size of most other's full version. i made the mistake of ordering soup so i took half of my half home. well, let's keep it real, i intended to take it home but conveniently forgot about it in the car for a week. don't act like you haven't done that before...
moral of the story is fast forward a year later, they know my name, my complicated order, my beer-coffee-water beverage buffet and probably when i lost my virginity. which was last week. okay, bye.
