green chili burrito was pretty good. atmosphere was ok.servicewas poor as mentioned in the other reviews.

nice crab cakes...scary bats!. crab cakes were perfect with a nice hint of a spice.servicewas very friendly and they were clearly very proud to work there and to share the history of the restaurant! the bats and bat cave however...well, they certainly don't need to redecorate for halloween!! nice patio with supersize waterfall. hint for the ladies - don't wear heals here, the wooden planks will destroy your shoes.

great food slow service. i went to carlsbad tavern last weekend for the first time for an afternoon drink and snack with my dad. we sat on the patio which was great given the weather, very unique place! the food we got was delicious, and the drinks as well. however my complaint is how slow ourservicewas. it wasn't too busy for a sunday afternoon and it still too ages for us to get our food and drinks and to even be approached by a server!
on the contrary, the chicken tacos and habanero sliders we ordered were delicious!

carlsbad tavern is fabulous!!!. my husband, myself and many, many friends have enjoyed this wonderful place for all of the years that it's been open. we feel so spoiled to have such tremendous food andserviceavailable to us! all of our out-of-town guests are treated to carlsbad because we know they'll be blown away, first time, every time.
i recently read a review about this restaurant talking the food up (no one can dispute) and theservicedown. we all can have an 'off' night, but this writer suggested profanity and an almost fist fight from the servers, this is preposterous and ridiculous!! i suggest that the author is a disgruntled ex-employee. pay no mind.
you'll love the menu and the personal attention given by the owners and those who serve.

wonderful food.servicecould be better, but not bad. best mexican in town. when we went the first time, we couldn't wait to go back and bring freinds. unique and tasty. i would agree thatservicecan lag a bit, but not terrible. excellent atmosphere, especially the patio.

batty service. i hate to write this review but its the truth. i have never been to a restaurant (multiple times) where the food is so good, and theserviceis so horrible. consistantly horrible too! on one brunch outing, two servers nearly got into a fist fight in front of our table. profanity was flying too. another dinner we thought our server went home for the night, and finally went up to the bar to find her. no one seems to care and i guess they dont have to.
***update*** to dsummers007 who suggested i am a disgruntled ex employee.. you have one review to your name! i have written over 30...did i work for all of those restaurants too??? i suggest that you are the employee or have a connection to carlsbad!! my review is fair and honest and those events did happen. you have an agenda, not i. "pay no mind" to you dear!

a joke. the place is terrible. do not go there. management is a joke.serviceis terrible. too many good places in scottsdale to give this horrible place your business. bar manager was the worst manager i have ever had the displeasure to meet. again, not worth the price or the wait for this joke a of restaurant. fast food quality for highserviceprice.

great atmosphere and delicious food! lots of so-so reviews almost kept us away, we're glad that we went ahead and gave it a shot. yes, we waited a while for our food on a saturday night, this neither shocks nor upsets me. the good was fresh, hot and flavorful when it arrived and theservicewas friendly. the decor and setting are what really make this an experience not to be missed though. i would highly recommend a visit.

poor customer service.. i am new to the area and went off the recommendation of good ole urbanspoon ( which i would use again). i arrived at carlsbad tavern, nice resturant and clean.
i ordered the lobster enchiladas, they arrived quickly and hot. third bite into my enchilada a nat lands on the surface of my enchilada, i scrapped it off and continued eating, about fifth bite in( still on enhilada number one)
i noticed that the rice was hanging on by a piece of lint.
after that i was done, i couldn't eat anymore, appetite over. the waitress takes the food to the back, comes back and tells me that it wasn't lint, that it was a grain from the rice and ask me, " would you like me to bring it back out" , i'm like no. you would think she would discount the bill as i hadn't even eaten 20% of my food.
she brought me the bill, i paid it, but of course left her no tip.
like i said the food good, customerservicenot so good. i would go to taco bell before carolsbad tavern.
