great first time blue crab eating experience! tucked away off the beaten path, right on the water, u can pull ur boat right up to the restaurant. plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating available at or near the bar. obviously, a local fave! the place was packed but we got quick service and a beer while we waited. this is the quintessential "crab shack!" craving the true, untainted flavor ofmarylandblue crab, i ordered the steamer that included 3 straight steamed whole blue crabs, mussels, clams, shrimp, corn on the cob, and cole slaw. it comes with a big slab of paper to cover the table, and a bucket fir the shells. thus heaping mound of seafood comes out hot and smelling delicious! i devoured the first crab, which didn't even need the drawn butter or lemon. it was so light, delicate, sweet, and juicy! a local couldn't resist coming to our table and preventing me from demolishing another one of maryland's tastiest little treats with the malot. she gave me the down and dirty "how to" demo, and begged me not to beat the crab anymore. slightly embarrassed, but mostly grateful, i proceeded eating my crab with much more grace and dignity. so, yea, it was excellent! our server was quick and helpful and the staff was all very friendly. my husband is a land lubber, so he ordered the cheesesteak and said it was really good. i wouldn't know because i was burried up to my neck in my tasty steam pot! apparently, this place has the reputation for having the best blue crab in the area, and that is quite possibly true, but given my choice of whole crab, i'd have to say dungeness is my favorite...sorry all u east coast blue crab lovers, don't take it personally! the blue crab is also excellent!
