changed review from positive - second visit. second time they got our order wrong. plant based for health, going on 8 years. hereditary atherosclerosis. ordered avo on toast, mushrooms and spicy beans. a simple plant based breakfast impossible to get wrong
guess again. came topped with cream cheese and sneaked in cooked pig sausages with the beans. why a restaurant would do things like this is completely beyond understanding. waiter was informed vegan. first visit a vegan salad came smothered in feta. not the waiters/kitchen staffs fault. cannot trust the staff to serve what is ordered because there is unnecessary additional items added in everything. 2 years and still doing the same stupid things. unfortunately these are managerial failures (which points to bigger issues) and unfortunate having to leave a negative rating.

fantastic little cafe that lives up to its name. was helped as soon as we entered the door, and service from staff throughout was impeccable. food was great and cooked to perfection. would recommend this little cafe to anyone i come across. thanks for the good meal and environment.

i had the poached eggs with avo and feta and added the fried tomatoes - was very happy! always content with the food at mayfair, i’ve only had good meals there.

this is the 3rd time i have been to cafe mayfair and have enjoyed both their breakfast and lunch options. service with a smile 😁 amazing food with prompt service and variety on their menu

you want comfort, a friendly welcome smile, consistent food and fabulous coffee ???

well then get to mayfair. anytime of the day this little durban north gem makes you feel
like you on holiday.

highly recommend the mayfair benedict, so rare to find good hollandaise these days it's a definite winner.
i can't help indulging in at least two choccocinos per visit they that good.
the staff are always friendly attentive and helpful.

excellent service! the place was extremely busy, yet we got our drinks and food so quick. you can see they care about their work and it's a team effort. the food was delicious and made of top quality ingredients. i had the bacon feta avo and pesto on rye. what a pleasure. not stingy on the toppings and the bread was morishlt soft. well done! very impressed.

mayfair in glenashley !!!

i had been there with my family for sunday lunch and it was wonderful, great atmosphere and friendly, helpful waiters.

they hardly had any vegetarian options but they were very helpful in helping us with a veg meal.

our lunch consisted of : a mushroom feta sandwich with feta and i had a rooibos tea.
a avo wrap which was good and a open sandwich full of salad.

we also had a fresh juice, carrot, ginger and cucumber juice. it was good.

all our portions were with salad.

i enjoyed this cafe. will definitely go back👍🏽😀

reliable coffee shop menu combined with great service, a modern, airy venue and nice buzz make mayfair a great neighbourhood coffee shop for breakfast, lunch or business meetings.

yesterday i had a toasted barbeque pork sandwich on rye. at r75, it was the most expensive toasted sandwich on the menu - but it was worth every penny. laden with tender pork, with a side of very good coleslaw. the sandwich looks a bit plain in the photo, but that’s because i asked for the coleslaw on the side rather than on top, which would no doubt have looked more interesting.

my son chose the chicken, bacon and avo wrap and thoroughly enjoyed it. well-filled and served with great chips

thanks bongi, for excellent service.

one suggestion, i would like to see a couple of smaller savoury items, for when you just want a snack.

i am disappointed to see some negative reviews of mayfair on zomato as i have only ever had good experiences here! yummy brunch options - the sweet potato rostis were a delicious eggs benedict alternative. friendly & attentive service too. can't and won't fault this place!

boring outdated menu that looks like it came from the 90s or early 2000s. there are not enough options that cater for people's needs such as banting,vegetarian and gluten free. a pleasant interior and friendly staff though.

not a bad place. good staff and service and well priced coffee. not enough light snack selection that is low carb. banting specials are limited to one which stays for a few months and is always quite pricy. a banting breakfast has been introduced that is full of all sorts of fruit - so clearly the chef is not aware of the banting rules ;) their early closing is also annoying
