cafe laz is a good little turkish kebab house located in newtown. enjoyed their chicken kebabs and mixed iskenders. falafels were pretty dry. but overall good meal for the price.

they use the same tongs for everything, cross contaminating everything with meat. absolutely disgusting. if you’re vegetarian or vegan, or even allergic to certain foods, do not eat here.

was met with a scowl upon entry by the woman behind the counter. looked like the owners were having a family catch-up in the restaurant and the atmosphere was awkward. kebab was bland. not enough sauce, pieces of meat that were hard and inedible due to sitting around in a heating pot for too long. won't be back.

unfortunately i was made to feel like i had offended the lady when i walked in the store. have always loved these kebabs but service is important and she was so rude and unhappy it ruined any chance of future repeat business from me.

this is our favourite kebab shop. mixed kebab w mild chilli and garlic yogurt for me. fresh salad and super tasty. kids like it too - even my boy who doesn’t usually eat salad 😜

what i miss most about wellington. i lived across the lights in the apartments and this was our go to lunch stop. pop across the road and get the chicken and falafel pita. amazing the pita bread is delicious and the best falafel i've ever tired.

thought we'd try somewhere new for lunch today. got excited at the choices and options. ordered 2 x iskander combo's. disappointed in what we got. overpriced for the portion size. not much meat and the hot chilli sauce tasted like salsa. no onions - whats up with that!!! sorry guys won't be coming back.

always great food from here, but the previous incarnation run by a kurdish man was far superior. this has less options than its predecessors but it a solid performer.  have tried a number of the different fillings in both kebab and salads and each has been good rather than great. the combo option is brilliant! meat options are tasty and so are the vegetarian ones.  recommend..

awesome kebabs!! best i've had in wellington.
would recommend satay,garlic yogurt with mild chilli for the sauces!
definitely don't be fooled by its setup and has lovely service :)

really really good kebabs, just great flavour and the freshest fillings you could want. kids love them too. i am gluten free but ruin that once in a while for these kebabs. friendly staff too and recently redecorated interior. you guys should try and get a gluten free wrap, i'm keen to try it (can even bring my own if that's ok!!). great freshly cooked falafel here too!

these have to be the best vegetarian kebabs in wellington. fantastic flavours and lots of lovely fresh salad ingredients. don't let the outside put you off. you won't be disappointed.
highly recommended by a very fussy kebab eater!

one of my favourite cheap eats.

perfect every time! absolutely love this place. quality food, sauces and fillings. iskenders so good. no crappy kevabs like the joints on courtenay place!

the family business is solid and has never slumped in their desire to make a good meal.

we've eaten here on a number of occasions. really fresh tasty food, good vegetarian options and value. a bit run down,but clean.

the building is a bit run down, but don't let this put you off. the food is excellent. we had mixed vegetarian kebabs, baklava and apple tea. the ingredients were very fresh, staff were friendly and the had an "excellent" grade council food hygiene certificate.

good vegetarian selection.
